Tuf Shine Tire Shine Kit Reviews
Professional Detailer Reviews
Not only does it provide a beautiful finish to the sidewall of all tires, whether it be a matte finish or a high gloss finish, this product also provides 100% protection from UV and ozone concerns. In the 3 years I've used the product it has NEVER cracked or blistered off. Unlike most off the "off the shelf" tire dressings, TUF SHINE Tire Clearcoat is water based and is dry to the touch in just a minute or two after application. It has no oily or gooey residue, will not sling off and will not wash off.
What differentiates Tuf Shine from your standard tire dressing is the fact that it's a rubber clearcoat being applied to the tire, and not a "dressing". And after a few minutes drying time, the tire is completely dry to the touch...no black residue will come off onto your hands (or clothes). It's a completely different type product. The finished product is a nice, dark look without being overly glossy, and without any worries of residue slinging onto your freshly detailed car! You should continue to see a nice finish that lasts for months...not days or weeks.

Never have I seen something so cool for tires. I bought a show car, I put it on after about 5 cleanings with the cleaner to get rid of the Armor All and then did 4 coats of the shine on February 18th. It's March 4th and I still have a beautiful, dry to the touch shine. I added another coat about 3 days ago just to shine them up a little more. It's fantastic. Since I live in Florida UV rays can ruin a tire, this protects even with that.
Surprisingly impressed! Easy to use kit with great results. Pros: easy to use, great shine. Cons: price, very thin and runny product
I was looking for a long lasting tire dressing for the big 33" knobby tires on my wife's truck so I wouldn't be going through a ton of dressing and reapplying every time we washed the car. Found this product and gave it a try. So far so great! The most difficult part of the process (really just time consuming, not difficult) was the initial tire cleaning process. I'd suggest wearing eye protection while doing this because the soap sprays a lot while scrubbing with the tire cleaning brush. I was able to get all the tires clean with the included spray bottle, but almost used the entire bottle. After letting the tires dry after rinsing, and using a leaf blower to speed up the drying time, I applied the tire shine coating...on a normal tire this would be super easy, but I did find it difficult getting into all the nooks and crannies of the aggressive knobby off road tires. It just took a little more effort and precision using the included sponge. I ended up putting on 2 coats and I'm super happy with the results. A slight shine. 2 weeks later with a couple rain days and a lot of driving the tires still appear to have just been washed and dressed. I'll be washing the truck this weekend so I'm hopeful they look just as good after the wash.
Have used this product on my own vehicle's tires and many of my Client's tires for 7 years and have never had an issue with cracking, white spots, etc.
I do wash them very well, including a plain water pressure wash to start the process, and taking the time to really wash them with water before using the TufShine Cleaner and their fabulous brush.
Then follow up with another pressure wash and I always get perfect results.
My only permanent coating for tires and it has never failed to always look great for 7 years.
Some Clients don't want to spend the extra so they get the great Zaino Z16 Perfect Tire Gloss product.
Tuf Shine Coating is absolutely the best out there.

Expensive...yes. Decent amount of labor for initial cleaning...yes. Excellent shine...yes. Not reapplying for over two weeks... HECK YEA! Wash with soap and water. Reapply if you want. No sling off. Easily get a wet look shine if that's what you want. Highly recommend. Just realize that the cleaning phase is intensive...You need to want it!
This is the best tire product that I've used! Great stuff! Dries quickly. Looks great!
Outstanding product, holds up to the Texas sun.
At first after cleaning the tires multiple times, I thought is this worth it? My back was killing me. Then after I started applying the Clearcoat, I said wow definitely worth the pain. The first day I put 2 coats on of the Clearcoat and let them dry overnight. They looked great but I needed more shine, so the next day I put 2 more coats on and got that high glossy shine I was looking for. I would recommend this product to any Detailer who takes pride in their vehicle and has a lot of patience.
This will require quite a bit of work but if you don't want to deal with browning of tires from some dressings, this is currently your best bet... especially if you don't want to always apply dressing each (or every other) wash.
I had to get my car repaired and the place happened to detail my car for me (somewhat a surprise, somewhat bothersome as I wanted to do my own thing and had no idea they'd detail). They applied a tire dressing that turned brown after a week or so of driving... hence "if you don't want to deal with browning of tires from some dressings".
This will be a 4-hour + job. Keep that in mind as you'll need the time to clean/prep, and the time to dry. If you want more coats, you'll need to let each coat dry before another application, which = more wait time.
I had to go through the cleaning cycle a max of 9 times (some only 6 as I scrubbed longer). I basically spent about 30 minutes per tire just cleaning/prepping them. Get adequate lighting (I was doing this in the evening in my garage and lighting made it hard to see if suds were really white or brownish gray).
I applied only one coat (not exactly thin though) and it's been a week since. Still looking good, black, and clean. I happened to wash with CG's Honeydew Foam today, along with Gyeon Iron Wheel Cleaner. The shine has very lightly dulled, but it's still holding up pretty well. We'll see how long it takes to dull.
Pros: Still shining, wheel seems protected well.
Cons: Takes a lot of prep work. The cleaner smells somewhat orange/citrus-based but also an irritant. Keep area ventilated.
I'm hoping this holds up well. I really like the concept of this product.

Like others have said, clean, clean, clean. You'll know when the tires are ready. I'm fairly pleased with the product. It's held up but doesn't really WOW me. Next time I'll try a couple more coats I guess.
My Michelin tires are only 6 months old and the tires were not very dirty. I wash my vehicle often and I always scrub the tires with a stiff bristle brush and Dawn soap. I followed your directions and washed the tires three times with the cleaner till the suds were white. I could not get the white lettering to look white, they had an off-white color to them. I cleaned the lettering a fourth time and the suds were white but the lettering stayed off-white or yellowish. I was hoping this would do the trick but it didn't.
Excellent Product, but know you need to work for it. I purchased the kit once before and had dismal results because I thought I had cleaned the tires well enough; I did not and the product failed. I purchased the kit a second time, along with an extra bottle of tire cleaner (necessary for an SUV), and really put the effort into it this time. 10 scrubbing/rinsing cycles per tire should leave you with a thick, white foamed tire. Allow to dry and then apply a well shaken coating to the tire. Very very pleased with the results this time.
I just put this on a few days ago and it looks great. Yes, it took some time to clean the tires, but it is worth it. No more sling or dirty pants when you happen to touch the tires when leaning over the car. I like the matte finish but applied a second coat and it improved to a slight gloss when dry.

Laughable at how this product makes your tires ALWAYS look clean and NEW. Never again buy the greasy spray foams that attract dirt and brake dust. Take your time and clean the rubber correctly and you'll feel like a pro-detailer when finished.
It worked just as it said love it. I'm always keeping the product on my tires forever
Followed the directions made sure tires were CLEAN and dry. Has been on my tires for a month shine has not diminished. I really like this product will see how long it maintains it's shine. A good shine not glossy. Very impressive.
Update to my review of 5/9/12. The quick take is that I just placed another order for Tuf Shine today. I was a bit surprised to see I have had TS on my cars for over 18 months now. I doubt if I have applied additional coats more than 3-4 times. I just bought a new set of tires for my SUV and wanted them protected as cquickly as possible. Thankfully with new tires the cleaning process was much easier. The guy doing my tire install actually came into the store's waiting room to ask what was on the take-off tires, he liked the appearance and feel of the old tires that much. The product has held up extrmely well and has made the tires quite easy to care for. As long as you aren't looking a super wet look and are willing to do the preperation (THOROUGH cleaning), this product is amazing. I gave all my other tire products away to friends.
While this is a good product, I would not recommend it for use on tires that have had any tire dressing applied to them. If there is the slightest hint of tire dressing in a tire this is applied to, it will peel off and look terrible. One reviewer here had to clean his tires NINE TIMES. That is ridiculous IMHO and makes me wonder if the Tuf Shine Tire Cleaner is all that great. Given that the extensive amount of prep required for this product, it is just not worth it IMHO. It would take less time to apply another brand of tire dressing every week or two.
I applied and rinsed off the Tuf Shine Cleaner until all the brown was gone, but The Tuf Shine still started to peel within a day or two.
Tuf Shine is best suited to brand new tires that have never had tire dressing applied to them. I have had much better luck on brand new tires and still using the Tuf Shine cleaner as prep.

As long as you clean your tires to get to a clean base, the product works GREAT.
Did my tires 3 weeks ago,and they look like they were just done.

I would definitely buy this item again. In fact, I ordered the gallon size of the tire cleaner already. The kit provides the desired results, as long as you put the effort in to clean the tires the first time around. I had to clean each tire 9 times before the suds turned from brown to white. However, once cleaned, I put 3 coats of the shine on each tire and have received a ton of compliments. I've driven in rain, washed the car twice and the shine is still there. Great product!
The tuff shine is an ok product, it does maintain a matte finish on your tires as described but high gloss is hard to achieve. Several other products on the market will give you a high gloss finish on tires for cheaper as it is what our customers expect.
Long lasting best product on the market! No sling and last for weeks not days!!
Very good product. Shine on tires is quite impressive. Make sure you have a clean and dry tire. Applied to wife's new infiniti. Dealer slopped what seemed to be a bottle of armor all or something similar per tire. Had to scrub with dish detergent first then dried tires before spraying Tuf Shine cleaner. The clearcoat is really easy to apply and will not sling product, once dry. Applied 3 weeks ago and drove in the rain for 3 days. Washed car and tires still shining as much as when I first applied product.
I just bought this product a few weeks ago and finally got around to applying it. This stuff is AMAZING and very easy to use. I would highly recommend this product to any one tired of having to apply tire shine after every wash. This is one of the best car detailing products I've ever bought!
I have had this on my tires for about three weeks now and I can notice no difference between today and day one. My tires are almost 3 years old and have had a number of different products applied over the years. It was amazing seeing all these previous layers disappear with the cleaning, and my tires looking brand new before even applying the shine. I applied the shine as close to the directions as possible on a warm day about 80* with no direct sunlight. It took about 1.5 hours to clean and apply the shine to my rather large truck tires. Anyone that has seen my tires in the last three weeks has asked if I got new tires because they look that good! I am so happy with this purchase and wish that it was sold on store shelves everywhere!
Simply put, this stuff is AMAZING. TUF Shine works exactly as advertised. I had to scrape off the mess that Turtle Wax Black Tire Coat left on my tires before applying it but now my tires have a beautiful, CLEAN, long lasting shine. I will absolutely continue to purchase this product and I will recommend it to every enthusiast I know!

This product works! I find this product very easy to use. You just have to make certain that you clean the tires properly, which I found is not hard at all, especially using a pressure washer. I cleaned my tires 3 to 4 times prior to putting the tuf shine tire clearcoat. This product works so well, I used it on my vehicle, my wife’s Audi, my Harley Davidson and my motorbike trailer. I highly recommend this product to EVERYONE!!!
I put three coats on the Michelin tires on my Lexus EX. I like this better than the Balck Tire Coat by Turtle Wax because you can regulate the level of gloss. The Turtle Wax stuff is very glossy . . . a little too much for my taste. Tuff Shine has been on for several weeks through several storms and has worked as advertised. Based on the consistency and how it works, I think you could get the same results with a good vinyl floor wax for a little less money.
Never thought that I would purchase a tire appearance kit before but reading the claims for how good this product was I decided to take the jump because it was on sale. I figure what's the harm. Most "tire shine" products always eventually dull and fade after 2 days or so. After I received the product I read the directions and all seemed easy enough. My plan was to do the tires first and then wash my car...well that didn't pan out as good as I thought because I literally spent 2 hours on all 4 tires to get them the way I wanted. The cleaning stage was the best part because I could see all the previous dirt and grime from the tire being scrubbed off and that was a great feeling. After all the proper cleaning I applied 2 coats of Tuf Shine and the tires have a slight matte and shine to it which is the look I was going for. I can tell you that after driving on these for a week the tires still shine like the day I applied the Tuf Shine. If and when I run out of this product I will be buying it again.
The last few reviewers hit the nail on the head. For tires, it's the best...product...ever. Put the time in when cleaning and you'll have an awesome, long lasting dressing. I'm pretty happy with the results from one coat. Might go with two next time to bump up the shine a little bit. Only thing remaining to see is how it holds up during washings. The stuff isn't cheap, but it's money well spent.
This is the best product I have ever used on my tires. I'm meticulous with my cars and as such, I wanted something that was going to last a long time, as opposed to getting washed off after the first rain. I never cared for all the super glossy finishes or gel products. The cleaner works awesome and you'll be amazed at how much brown junk comes off the tires. The coating was exceptionally easy to apply using the included sponge. Just make sure to soak it into the sponge, as it can easily run off. And after several months of going thru dirt, mud, and a lot of rain storms, the tires look nearly 100% as good as the day I put it on.
There is absolutely one thing you MUST do, which the instructions explicitly dictate: the tires must be completely cleaned of any grime, old dressings, dirt or anything else. The cleaner does an excellent job, but you can't kid yourself and do a quick job on this, even after doing so and they look "clean".
As an example, I had 2 brand new tires mounted on my summer wheels that had not been put on my car yet. Knowing full well that new tires would likely have some releasing agents on them to help remove them from their molds, I did what I thought was a great job on cleaning the tires, especially since they weren't mounted on my car and having them horizontally flat on the ground made it even easier to clean. After they looked great, clean and dry, I applied the Tuf Shine coating twice. Looked perfect. I mounted the tires and drove around for a few days and upon inspecting them, I noticed some brown spots as well as some areas where the coating was flaking. This was on only about 5% of the tire, but still, it didn't look that great. The problem areas were around the tiny lettering disclaimers on the tires, as well as on the edges of some of the serrated sidewall sections of the tire. Guess what I thought were clean tires, apparently weren't. Now, mind you, I detail cars as a side business, so I am a perfectionist when it comes to cleaning.
With that said, my recommendation is as follows: Clean the tires with the Tuf Shine cleaner until the foam is white as per the instructions. Rinse. When they look good, clean them again. Feel free to use the included brush, but what I also used was a small fingernail cleaning brush to get into every possible bump/crevice/etc. Brush them in one direction (circling the whole tire), then brush 90 degrees (up and down the sidewall), then again in the other direction, then 90 degrees from that, then brush them diagonally both ways. Then rinse again. When they look really clean, repeat the process yet again. And when you think they look clean, guess what...clean them one more time !!
I can't stress enough about how the tires need to be absolutely positively cleaned completely. I spent about 1 hour of cleaning per tire, cleaning and rinsing at least 5 times. Yes, it's a long time, but your reward is new looking tires with a shine that will last for months and months and months. My neighbors and friends think I clean the tires/wheels every few days, when in fact, all I have to do now is just wipe them with the same car wash soap I use when I wash my car. Now takes me all of 10 seconds per tire to clean them up.
Well worth the money to buy Tuf-Shine, and definitely highly recommended !!

I am really impressed with this product. It's been on my daily driver for about a month now and is holding up beautifully. I had pretty much settled on Four star Ultimate Tire Protectant Gel with Polycharger as my tire product of choice. I had been using it for a few years, wanted to trying something new and was somewhat intrigued by Tuff Shine.
As many have said, and I will again stress, preparation is the absolute key to a successful application. I probably cleaned my tires 6 times before I was satisfied they were ready for the product application. It went on very easily (do wear gloves) and the first coat dried by the time I was ready to start applying the second I strongly prefer a matte or satin look, so two coats was plenty for me. I've driven the vehicle for around a 1000 miles and through a few rain storms and it still looks like the day I applied it. It's been on my Z for about two weeks and is also holding up well, but that car is driven once a week, so that's probably not nearly as good a test as my primary vehicle.
If you experience any problems with this product, the most likely explanation is that you did not prepare the tires properly....clean, clean, clean.

Tuf Shine is awesome! Finally was able to use this stuff, purchased awhile ago, just too cold to use it. Its been on my tires over a week now and the tires look great. My car is a 2010 Malibu and I drive about 350 miles a week, so far so good. also applied it to my 2010 Equinox and my daughter's 2008 Pontiac G5. Like everyone elses review, preparation is the KEY to this product. I like the fact that it dries to the touch very quickly and there is no sling off. I will never use anything else on my tires again!
I purchased this product with being a little skeptical of the advertised outcome but eager to put it to the test. My subject was a fully restored ‘69 Camaro that had been treated to years of, inferior at best, dressings. I used a jack to get each wheel of the ground as I worked to be sure all edges were hit. I followed my normal regime of cleaning and then went to work with the tire cleaner. I spent about 15-20 minutes per tire scrubbing and rinsing. Each tire took about 2-3 applications of the cleaner to get all signs of the previous dressings to disappear and get to the bare "new" rubber. Once satisfied with all corners, I brought the car in and put it on the lift to have better access to apply the Clearcoat. After thoroughly drying each wheel and tire with the air gun, I masked off the freshly polished beauty rings. I applied one coat per tire as the customer wanted to maintain the fresh tire look. I made sure to blot in and around the lettering first and then smoothed out the excess product while applying the clearcoat to the rest of the tire. The product was dry in less than 6 minutes and was flawless! The depth of the matte finish was amazing! The clearcoat only took about 15 minutes to apply to all wheels and I had no discoloration or other issues. This is the product I have been looking for! When the client took delivery he was floored! After driving to a few car shows the tires still look great with a quick wipe down and have no issues whatsoever. I could not be happier. Thanks DI and to others for their reviews!
Very controllable with regards to how matt or shinny you want your tires to be. The best tire cleaner I've used.
I got the chance to use this product for the first time today. I followed the instructions, cleaned each tire with their cleaner and brush, dried each tire, then applied Tuf Shine with the applicator pad. It looked great after I first put it on and it dried to the touch, I was very happy with the results. Now here's where the trouble began, after I drove around for a few miles, I got out of my car and noticed that my tires were whitish in some spots. Upon closer examination I noticed that the Tuf Shine cracked up around every tire, kind looked like alligator skin. This happened once before, but I had applied the product in 38 degree temps, not noticing the bottle said to only apply in temps above 40, so I chalked it up to the fact that the temps were to cold. But today it is 75 degrees and what I thought was an otherwise perfect day to give this a shot again.

I have used this on my BMW for two months now and have been very happy with its performance. Dries and does not sling. I just wash the sidewall with car soap and water. Sidewalls stay black and look clean. Only recommendation : it is critical that you clean the tire thoroughly before you apply the product.
You must be willing to invest the time i order the reap the rewards that this kit will yield once you have the patience and the will. It takes some time to scrub those tires and remove any trace of silicone that would have been there previously, but IT IS WORTH IT! The amount of tire Cleaner supplied is very bare (I suspect some people may need more than the bottle supplied according to the size of the tires and how much dressing has previously been applied to your tires), but hte cleaner works well.
Once thoroughly cleaned/prepped and dry, the Clearcoat is pretty easy to apply. Just be aware it runs easily so be careful when applying it to the foam applicator, and wear the gloves provided to protect your hands.
This kit also works very well in conjunction with the TUFSHINE Black Restore, espcially if you have faded trim.
All in all, once you invest the time and effort and energy in the prep, you'll be more than satisfied with the results!

This is one of the products that has impressed me the most out of the countless amount of new items I recently purchased. Terrific stuff if you want to give your tires that executive royal treatment then get it!! Be sure to rub and rub all of that old tire dressing and silicone based tire dressings off real good. It is awesome stuff which really did pass my white glove test. After it dries it looks great and when you touch it there is nothing on it, dry to the touch.
No one likes tire dressing slinging all over the place and this product guarantees it. I'm always looking for the best products for my clients and Tuf Shine is a sure winner. Customers are always impressed by the longevity of this product and the fact that they can run their hands across the tire and not have it come off on their hand. Very easy application with great results. Most of my clients store their vehicles in fantastic garages and this keeps the tires from making a mess on their floors. Its a mainstay in my arsenal of products.
This tire kit performs, and it's no ordinary dressing. Pro's: cleans tires well, dressing goes on easy. Con's: The key to this kit relies on prepping the tire, repeated applications can get costly, & time consuming process. The tire cleaner in this kit is pretty unique in how much grime it can remove. I recommend reading the Greg Nichols video DIY, the most important part of this kit is cleaning the tires sufficiently to allow the clearcoat to bond. Apply it dry, scrub like mad, then let the tire dry again to reapply another tire cleaning stage. I've noticed if the cleaner dries in sunlight it limits the cleaning ability. Oddly after the tire has been cleaned its better to let it dry to reapply the cleaner.
As for appearance, I've done 1.5 coats and the look is extremely clean and uniform matte. Great kit! Just supplement the tire cleaner after the first stage with say Optimum Power Clean.

This is a great tire cleaner/dressing kit. The features I like the most about the kit is it really cleans the tires well, there is absolutely no sling what so ever, it does not attract dust, so the vehicle seems to stay cleaner longer. Tires will shine right back up by wiping them down or washing the vehicle. My only complaint is that the tires don't seem to have as much gloss as using a silicone based product. Even after multiple coats of the clearcoat, I would like to see a little more gloss. If you perfer a low to medium gloss tire dressing, look no further than Tuf Shine.
3 month update - I have been using the Tuf Shine Kit for over 3 months now. I still LOVE the tire cleaner! and the clearcoat is a really great product as well. I am now refreshing the clearcoat on the cars that I put it on in May, so I'd say that I got three months of good use out of a single application. I do use Sonax Full Effect on the wheels of all my cars, and I imagine that that shortens the life span of the clear coat. After doing applications as directed (wash until the suds are white) on 5 cars, I am in need of more of the cleaner. It is still my all time favorite wheel dressing!
This is one of the best products I have purchased so far. Dries and stays shining for days. Cleans off very easy. I highly recomend this to anyone who is sick of the oily stuff getting all over their car and cover.
I would buy this again for sure. Really liked the tire cleaner and brush. Holds up very well in the rain.
I was a bit skeptical about this product at first. However after using it once, all I can say is wow! No sling, lasts a long time, and you can choose the level of shininess you want which is great. The kit is awesome. The tire cleaner is powerful enough to cut through all the road dirt etc on the tires without harming my wheel finish. The brush that comes with it is perfect for cleaning the tires. I thought I would use most of the coating for my first application, but I was wrong. I did all 4 tires, 2 coats, and I still have 4/5 of the bottle left. Definitely recommend this to everyone looking for a product that WILL NOT SLING!
If you're like most of us on this site, you enjoy trying out new products trying to find the ones that make your car stand out. I was skeptical when DI first started carrying this product but if you follow the site at all, you know Todd Cooperider. After reading his review I decided to give it a try. The cleaning process is critical for the clearcoat to adhere properly and their cleaning product absolutely does the job. I was amazed at how much dirt came off my tires, especially considering I use a rubber cleaner on them at each wash prior to applying tire dressing. The clearcoat dries quickly and doesn't leave any black residue, which is easy on the hands and clothes! I personally don't like a super glossy tire and the ability to "dial-in" your shine level is a nice feature. I applied two coats for a 'slight' shine and the tires looked amazing. Durability is a differentiating feature for Tuf Shine. I have had them on my tires for a full 6 weeks, and while my tires don't look EXACTLY like they did when I applied the product, they look very, very good - especially when you consider that all I've done is hose them off during my regular washes. One note on sizing - there is plenty of product in the kit to do 2 full size cars. Overall, a great product and one that I highly recommend!
I've always found shining tires to be a tedious part of detailing. It's the last thing I want to do after washing or detailing a car, especially my own. My car is very low and the tires tuck into the fenders making it an even more daunting task to have to shine one half of the tire then roll the car backwards to get the other half. TUF shine is a perfect option for my personal vehicle and my customers! I typically use 2 coats of TUF shine on the tires for a nice semi-gloss look, not too shiny, not too dull. It's a great time saver as well not having to scrub tire sling off the paint and to not have to worry about shining my customers tires after every wash. TUF shine is well worth the initial cost, dont let the little 6oz. bottle fool you either, even with 3 coats on each tire, you won't use more than 0.5oz on an average size passenger car tire!
I, like most of you, was not very satisfied with my prior tire dressings. I went from Armour All style to the thick silicone ones, but always had a fairly short-term result, and with an eventual nasty brown hue to the tire.
I used the Tuf Shine on my wife's 2011 Yukon XL yesterday afternoon, let me say that the tire CLEANER itself is worth the cost of the entire kit! After just two rounds with the tire cleaner I was IMPRESSED! So much brown came off the 9 month-old tire and they were left pure black. I only applied one coat of the clear-coat to achieve a satin-like apearance, but it really completed the car's detail. You have to try it, at least try the tire cleaner.

I just bought 4 new Michelin Auto Sport II A/S tires. I was interested in getting started with a good tire product to continue that "new" tire look. I carefully scrubbed each tire twice followiwng the directions. I then over the next few days applied 5 coats of the product. This car is garaged at home and at work. The shine I achieved was not as glossy as I would like. The real test for me would be after the first drive thru the rain. The other day I drove the 30 miles thru a "light" rain. The ground was wet but not flooded. I was disappointed in the performance of this product based on the claims that were made. Based on what I saw happen to the tires after this drive home I would not conclude that the finish is permanent. I would call it slightly resistent to dulling. For the price I am sorely disappointed.
I saw this product on this site and after reading the description and what it says it will do i decided to purchase the kit.Let me tell you that my search is over for a real tire clean and shine kit. The cleaning aspect of this kit is amazing. This is the first time i got my tires clean without that rusty look to them. Next was the clearcoat. When i first applied the clear coat i wasn't to impressed. I guess i was looking for that ultimate shine right off the bat, (i like a nice glossy look ) but when i started to add coats WOW ! ( 1ST coat gives you that matte look ) ( 2ND coat give a slight shine ) ( 3RD coat watch out ! there is the shine i was looking for ) That's the great thing about this product is YOU! control the shine. This has been on my tires for about a month now and there is no lesser of a shine then when i first put it on. I will go as far as to say that if you don't like it i would buy it from you.
I have been searching for far too long, and spent far too much money looking for "the" item that perfectly fits my needs as a tire dressing. Well, I'm done searching, as this product is the "one"! Lot's of dressings promise great things, but IME, none deliver like Tuf Shine. You can vary the amount of shine, dries within minutes, absolutely NO sling, and long lasting. I followed the cleaning directions completely, and the results are amazing. Mine has been on my tires for 3 weeks now, driven through 4 rain storms, and taken out to the desert, and the tires look exactly the same as the day I put the product on. Clean, black with a nice low gloss (my preference). Don't bother buying more expensive products that you'll have to reapply every week, this is the last tire dressing you will ever need. Thanks Detailed Image for carrying such a fantastic product!
