Stoner Tarminator Reviews
Professional Detailer Reviews
There is always that time that comes along when your clay bar just isn't enough to remove the contamination at task. For example, say you have some road tar, sap, grease, adhesive (from old stickers, pin stripes, emblems, etc) or an area loaded with bugs and grime, using Stoner's Tarminator directly on the surface can help to safely remove the bonded contamination. [It's also] completely clear coat safe. It will remove silicone, oils, and wax build up without damaging any exterior trim.
First up in the Detailing Essentials Series is one product I can't detail without- Stoner Tarminator! Tarminator is designed to remove tar deposits, heavy contamination, tree sap, bugs, road film and more. But I don't actually want to talk about any of that. Don't get me wrong there are not many products out there that remove contamination better, but I've used this product in two entirely different ways to up my detailing game. Now, since this series was created to highlight products & techniques that have changed my personal detailing game, we need to talk about the first problem that it solved.

This is one of our secret weapons at the shop, and a miracle product for all of your solvent needs. Makes short work of tar and rubber/plastic marks, adhesive and other oil based contaminants. I have also used it effectively on paint overspray, including industrial bridge paint (a memorable job that nothing else would handle). It has gotten me out of so many jams, a must have for us.
Did a great job at removing bugs from the front of the car. Unfortunately I wasn't careful enough and it damaged my headlights a bit as well as black trim on the bumper.
This stuff is amazing!! It works so easily and fast. Definitely worth every penny.
This product works great, It removed sap with no rubbing!
This stuff is amazing. It easily removed a huge tar spot that was on my car since before I bought it that nothing else would touch.
Tarminator removed some dried pine sap that was sun baked on. I tried a couple of different solutions that didn't work but and Tarminator dissolved it easily in seconds.
This is a awesome product and for many uses not just tar or removal, its fantastic on tires
as well getting any little left over residue off. You can use a card wrapped with a microfiber and clean
trim around windows like amazing.

Great product! Does its job like described. My preference is spraying it directly on a microfiber towel and then wiping away contaminants. (wear your gloves)
Love it, I had gotten some tar on my Civic Si due to the cold patch all over the NE Ohio roads, YUK! One spray of this and a wipe and POOF it is gone!
Works very well on bugs and sap that won't come off with a detail spray. I also find it helpful to clean off wax or polish residue from various areas of the car. Does a good job of cleaning wheel wells and even tires, yes I use it on tires and it is a great tire cleaner too.
Works well - I let it dwell on the tar marks and road grime along the running boards and rocker panels on my Sierra and couple of client cars that had accumulated winter road grime. After a few minutes wiped away with soap and water.
Best and easiest to use tar remover that I've found.

Incredible product. An absolute must have for many reasons. Just buy it. And you'll be at ease once you use it and realize how great it truly is.
This product is super easy to use and is the best at removing tar it required very little pressure. Bugs on the other hand required a little more force. This Product is amazing for whitewalls on tires. Definitely worth the money. My only problem is that I would like more product in the bottle.
For the price and effectiveness this product is hard to beat, works really well also for removing adhesive from paint or wheels.
I would use this as a last resort to remove tar, bugs and sap. It does work very well but you have to be prepared to spend 15-20 mins rinsing the area you sprayed. I spent a good 20 mins after using it rinsing my rear bumper (you can tell there is still tarminator on the surface from the oily water rinsing off) and I still feel there is some left on. My main concern is whether wax or sealant will bond right after use.
One day I had tar behind the wheel wells, it was fresh, and not fully dry. I had to spray many many times just to get everything off, almost helping the tar smear off. I had 10x better results using Adhesive remover, then just polishing/sealing afterwards.
Sprayed it on lower panels trying to get bugs and tar to come off before claying paint. Not impressed. Smells like it's one of those citrus based cleaners that work great on engine compartment. I will continue to try it until it's used up and then probably won't purchase another can.
Works GREAT on tar and gummy stuff. Works okay on bugs, better if you have a bug sponge to scub with after letting it dwell for about 30 seconds. Smells terrible. Smells likes mineral spirits or kerosine. Do not spray on headlights, it will cloud them. At least it has in two instances for me.Use on tar but a dedicated bug remover would be better for bugs IMO.
What is this stuff? It worked great!...But it smells like a mixture of Kerosene and WD40. I removed a few month's worth of tar off a Tricoat White GMC Yukon XL. I was very pleased with the results, but would becareful with some of the more delicate trim pieces.
good on tar, not so good on bugs. even after letting it all soak in, bug streaks remained. also keep away from plastics. this will stain/discolor headlight housings.
Really very iffy that I would buy again. Maybe if I was out and was ordering other stuff as well. Does not seem to work any better than stuff I could buy from a local store slightly cheaper. Product does work well however.

I use this product in many situations where a truly "safe" product is to be used. Safe practices notwithstanding, in all cases a suitable protectant should be used quickly afterwards.
This stuff is amazing in my opinion...so far I've had a 100% success rate with it...it even removed dry concrete from my quarter panels!

Bring it on your road trip for those pesky bugs. Obviously, you heard it's great on tar. I removed some tar based sealants that ooze from Isuzu doors with good success.
This is the first and only tar remover I have that used that actually worked. I will be buying a few more cans in my next order.
Amazing stuff the way the tar just melted off wheels...

Tarminator is gr8t stuff. Main thing is that it WORKS like it says it does and is SAFE for the paint finish. Spray n wipe.........using a microfiber coth of course.
Highly recommended. It makes cleaning tar off so much easier, almost effortlessly.
I ordered 3 cans of Tarminator based on others' feedback. WOW! Tarminator is incredible. I can't believe I waited this long to try this product. After using it on a few different cars, Tarminator has been able to remove more tar and other grime than any other product I've tried. I'm amazed at how well this product works. The shelves in my shop will continue to be stocked with Tarminator. Highly recommend!
For only $6, this stuff is great. I used it to get some caked on sap from a tree off a black truck. Used it exactly as described and it was able to cut right through the sap with very minimal work. You need to get this.

Just melts the tar/bugs. Love it.
Works real well, however I just wish it came in either a bigger can or a liquid spray form (non-aerosol)
This is one of those, "Why didn't I buy this sooner?" products. The name suits the product, but I find I use it more to remove grime from tires & wheel wells. It works great for this purpose and saves quite a bit of scrubbing time compared to traditional APC/degreaser products.

This works good even if you had a bug or tar left on your car for sometime.
