Rupes Coarse Wool Pad - 1.5"

Rupes Wool Pads are the best. I never use foam for cutting and polishing.

One of my favorite go to wool pads, no linting and polishes down really well.

I've tried these before and I didn't care for the rough ride they would give upon initial use, but I had an incident change my mind.

At work I sometimes have to do touch up, and with that some sanding. On two vehicles I had trouble correcting the sanding marks out of painted plastic bumpers with our Lake Country Microfiber Cutting Pads. On regular panels, that pad cuts very well! But on the painted plastic, I couldn't get any correction (Starting with 3D ONE which typically gets the job done with that pad). On this first occasion, the day ended and I came back armed with a couple blue and yellow Rupes Wool pads. I started with the Jescar Medium on the blue wool and that removed 85% of the damage. From nothing to 85% just by changing the pad and the juice. For the next application I used Jescar Correcring Compound and it was over. It actually finished out beautifully too.

The next car, the boss did the sanding, and he finished with way too high of a grit. Again, started out with microfiber and was again thwarted... I switched to an Adam's red and white wool pad with 3D ONE and in two applications, wiped out all of the sanding marks.

It was then that I logged in to Detailed Image to make an order. I can only assume it's how the wool keeps the surface cooler, and maybe that the wool fibers are much bigger and bolder than Microfiber. They also have cuticles which might aid in overall cut.

So I've learned to live with the initial rough ride so I can get a significantly faster result.

Side note, I used the yellow recently for a one step with 3D ONE. I just zipped around that car, removed 90+% of the swirls accumulated since 1995, and left a high gloss finish.

I'm happy and relieved to have more of these in the bag. I could see s scenario where I don't use microfiber anymore, if I keep reaching for these.
