Also a user of the Flex 3401, forced action is the happy medium for rotary and DA users. The rotation takes time getting used to but you jut have to control the machine and not let it control you. It's great for cut & finish. I use it with the Rupes system and have no complaints so far. I don't always want to bring out the rotary because then it's an automatic two step for me, this machine saves me a lot of time.
After comparing the Mille to the 3401 and XCE 10-8 125, I much prefer the Mille as it keeps the same rotational direction as the other Rupes lineup, and walks considerably less than it's forced rotation competitors.
Go-to tool for cutting, as well as all hard paints.

Exceptional machine, very smooth and easy to use and like my other rupes machines they have maintained a comfortable standard of ergonomics. In comparing the machine to other market leaders that also have forced rotation machines Rupes has def surpassed the field as they were able to reduce the level of vibrations produced by other brands
I added the Mille to my tools because I've been a long time user of the Flex 3401 with excellent results and needed a second workhorse. Because I'm so used to the Flex I feel like it's a little easier to control, but that'll even out I'm guessing as I use the Mille more. It my opinion, these forced rotation machines are the perfect blend between rotarys and dual actions. The only slight drawback I've noticed at this point are the SIX screws that need to be removed when changing backing plates.
If you're used to a dual action machine then this machine takes some getting used to ... it is, totally worth it though as it can knock out swirls/scratches and right to the very edges being it is forced rotation. Love it, it is a bit heavy but balanced very well and is a very high quality machine.
Love it! I am well experienced with the rotary and random orbital machines, I was primarily using my Rupes 15 Mark II as of late, and was getting so frustrated with the amount of pad stall I was getting, even on areas that were almost flat. Tried everything from Rupes pads to thin Griot's pads, more speed, less speed, more pressure, less pressure, different angles, etc and nothing helped much. I seemed to always want to grab the rotary.
Bought this tool instead of the Flex/Makita variant and I'm happy I did. It's awesome!! Super smooth for a gear driven, the speed dial is large, positive, perfect. I am most definitely NOT a "system" guy. I typically use Griot's Fast Correction Cream with Rupes Coarse Wool polishing pads, CarPro ClearCut with Megs Microfiber, Jescar Compound with Uro-Fiber, etc. but I will say that the Mille Coarse Compound works GREAT with the Coarse wool polishing pads and medium wool pads. The Mille fine compound works really well with the matching yellow fine Mille foam pads. Finished down great as a 2-step on my soft black trans am.
This is my new go-to tool. YES it will pull/wear on you more than a random orbital, but to me, the results are worth it. The cut is on par or better than the 15MKII and you get zero pad stall. 10/10 would buy again.

Not impressed and wish I didn't buy it. Bought all the pads and polishes that go with it too.
This was purchased as a gift and for use by my husband. This is his review: The press on this unit makes like it is a game changer - Not really. Is slightly better that the flex 3401 I use as as far as ease of use, control and fatigue factor. However, as far as taking out paint imperfections. my rupes 21mm random orbit polisher does a much better job. Even when used with a rupes medium wool pad, rupes uhs polish, the results were mediocre at best. sorry rupes- too much hype and not enough performance improvement for the price. NOT a game changer. Kind of dissapointed.
Awesome tool. There is not any other way to describe it. Con...I did not buy it sooner...
