Optimum Protectant Plus (Leather Protectant) Reviews
Customer Reviews
Absorbs well leaves a nice mat finish not shiny and it's great on vinyl too
My favorite leather condition, works great on all interior plastics and doesn't dry greasy and shiny. Love it!
Leaves a natural sheen and a clean smell. Easy to use and works on pretty much all hard surfaces
I use this on all the surfaces of the interior on my car, including the dash, leather wrapped steering wheel, door panels and seats. It does not leave a greasy film nor a glossy finish. I spray the product on a microfiber applicator and spread on the surface. It leaves a nice, rich treated look. It makes the leather seats feel supple and refreshed. The smell is not bad and doesn't last long. Use can either buff after applying or just leave it. Optimum makes some great products.
First off, I used power clean as a first step, then followed up on the Audi leather seat with optimum leather care. First impression is that the product didn't spray out if the bottle in a spray pattern that I expected. It mainly just steamed out in a thick squirt. The next thing I noticed was the leather scent. The third thing I noticed was how easy it was to spread onto the leather and how it didn't make the seats look dark or greasy like 303 did. This is where it gets interesting. Originally, I cleaned the seats last year and tried 303 as the leather protectant. 303 on the leather was a big mistake. That's when I bit the bullet and went with optimum power clean on the seat in an effort to remove 303. That worked, but I didn't have a protectant to apply after using power clean. That's where optimum leather care comes in. The leather care provided a finish and a leather scent that makes the Audi feel like it did when new 10 months ago. The power clean did an amazing job removing denim transfer. The seats don't look slick but it's easier to slide in and out of the seats now - so they feel and look very clean. I would put optimum at the top of the lost if I was working on a nasty car. I've mainly used Lexol on nappa leather but it stops there. The Audi leather did look and feel better with optimum and it is the lowest cost solution that works. However, the Sonax leather foam cleaned the Audi seat just as well and Sonax also smelled more like the factory smell. optimum power clean needs to be followed by optimum leather. If you have an Audi, I would go with Sonax but use optimum if a long time elapsed between cleanings.
I've used probably every box store leather protectant, also 2 stage lexol, saddle soap, just for leather, surf city, meguires, auto magic with lanolin, etc.
Pros: love how easy application is, the matte sheen and instantaneous improvement in feel. Also renewed that new appearance on the vinyl panels and smells clean and natural to me. I just ordered the big 120 ish Oz bottle as this is going onto the rest of our cars and any others I detail. Love it!
Cons: I apply more than is needed to do the job but that's on me.
Applied with: costco brand mf towel

I love Optimum products. This one does not let you down works great on interior leather and vinyl.
This is a great product beause of the nice satin shine that Optimum is know for and also the anti-static properties which is great for when you have carpet in a car that is deteriorating so it helps by not having dust stick to your dash and console.
This is a great leather/vinyl protectant and great to use on trim as well for a UV protection. It has VERY light cleaning abilities but that is what leather cleaner is for, this is more of a protectant. It also leaves a slight shine, nothing glossy or sticky and does not attract dirt.
Yet another effective product from Optimum. Pro's: Very reasonable pricing, matte shine, usable on every time of leather possible. Con's: Cleaning power isn't extremely high. The best part of this product is its ability to be used on the interior on basically every surface. Why many leather products will try to convince you conditioning is necessary, Optimum's goal is to lightly clean, give UV protection, and simply nourish the top leather coat. The scent of this product is pretty neutral and I've noticed it dissipates right away. Great product recommended for all my clients.
Great product!!!
i haven't bought any products from optimum that i didn't love, but this is by far the worst product i have used, it has an undesirable smell, and i found it to have inadequate cleaning ability, but what bothered me most was how uneven the finish on the leather was after treating it twice to try and attain even coverage, even if a little over spray gets on to a surface, it will dry that way, surprised because i usually love optimum products:(

I used lexol which was a separate cleaner and conditioner at one point which I was not thrilled with the results. I liked the aio mothers reflection leather cleaner much better over lexol. Then I moved on to Optimum since I began my love of their line (which is my preferred line, along with mothers) with the ONR wash. Very happy with the Leather Protectant results on my leather and interior, it looks as though when you first spray it on the leather that the chemical literally sparkles.
Another great product by Optimum. I have used this product on all my interior vinyl and leather. Some people mihht not like the smell of it, but it will go away after a day. Personally, I liked the smell, but my wife didn't. Very easy to use an a little goes a long way. Highly recommended.
A very nice product in that it cleans leather well and makes it look good without being greasy with a high sheen. Very natural looking, but still gives a very noticeable improvement. I'm on my second bottle.
I have been a long time 303 fan. Based on my first impression, I may have a new favorite! The OPP is more like a lotion than 303 plus it has a great new leather scent that smells great! DI had a great price for a gallon (50% less than 303) It has a saatin finish ala 303. Another Optimum home run!

I enjoyed using the product. It was easy
to use and went on very easy. I liked the appearance after final application. Since this is mt first time using the product, time will tell of it'd durability.

Recently used this product for the first time and will be ordering more. Makes the interior look new without being greasy/shiney. Another fantastic product from Optimum, have yet to be dissapointed by anything they make.
