I have been using this product for a while and am always pleased with the results. I have found Opti-Bond to be fairly durable. The dark appearance tends to begin fading after a week or so (poor weather may decrease durability), and I typically scrub my tires and apply a new layer at least twice a month. While Opti-Bond is called a "Tire Gel" it is also worth noting that it is very effective at restoring and protecting vinyl, plastic, and rubber trim. I use it on my plastic engine covers, and other exterior trim, and it looks great!

This is the best stuff for rubber, plastic, vinyl etc. that I have ever used. No brown discoloration left on tires; it's long-lasting and can bring new life to old, cracked plastic/rubber products. I've been using this for 5 or 6 years and wish I had discovered it decades ago. There's just no comparison to silicone-based products which give a quick shine, but don't last at all and can actually damage tires, vinyl, etc. I use it as a preventative for pretty much anything plastic and it keeps those items from drying out and cracking.

I wish I had tried opti-bond sooner, really liked the look of it not too shiny but left the tires looking new. Durability is on par with most tire dressings I have tried. Very easy to apply due to its consistency…. Optimum has good products. Can't go wrong!

Pros - Lasts about a week or a little more. Longevity depends on the weather (about 2 weeks). Tire shine is not SUPER glossy. I like a little more of a matte shine. Very little to no sling.
Cons - The cap. It comes with a standard cap. It should come with a dispensing style cap or even a sprayer would be better in my opinion.

I loathe tire shine. I hate how they apply, I hate how they sling, I really hate how greasy they are, how they ruin clothes, etc.

The first time using Opti-Bond was a tremendous relief. I had been using Meguiar's M40 for years (and still do on occasion) but I wanted something that would last longer. Because I was trying a lot of the Optimum line I naturally wanted to give them a shot.

I prep with Power Clean 3:1, rinse dry, and apply Opti-Bond with a foam applicator and hogs hair Brian if needed.

Very easy to apply. Very easy to spread out. Dries to the touch, and isn't greasy.

Opti-Bond leaves the tires with a rich sheen thay lasts for a long time. Much longer than the TW press Endurance that I had used years prior. No slinging.

Opti-Bond has been a welcomed addition to my operation. I wish I had tried it sooner. That goes for the entire Optimum line in general.

Love, love, love this in our shop! This paired with the spray gun is a great cost effective way to apply dressing under the hood, trim, tires and interior. I don't always use this in the interior, usually on older beat up dealer vehicle details, but it works great. Trick with this is keeping the spray gun dialed in just right, it'll empty a bottle in no time if you don't set it up right. Once it's right though, we can use one bottle on multiple vehicles.

Superb Product that Lasts a long time. No sling and mixing 1:1 makes product go a long way. This is a product that shouldn't be tampered with due to the fact it is a perfect product with no issues. I use it daily in our Professional Detail facility and absolutely love this product and ease of application with the spray gun.

I reviewed this product several years ago and continue to use and like it. The gel consistency makes it easy to apply with a Lake Country applicator. The tires do not get too shiny, and this tire dressing seems to last quite awhile.

Best gloss/durability tire dressing I've tried (and I've lost count). One coat on CLEAN tires (stiff brush and rubber cleaner), will last at least a week, might knock down to satin after a while, but the water repellency is still there after more than a week. One coat will give a fairly decent gloss look, I suggest letting it sit for a few hours before driving to really set, but I've also driven right away with no sling. A second coat does bump up the gloss a bit, but not enough for the time it takes, so I usually default to one coat. Another plus is how little is needed per tire, a 32 oz bottle goes a LOONG way.

The ONLY con is the cap. It should be a squirt top of some type or you get way to much product or it burps out the spout... I had a cap to fix that, so 4.999 stars from me.

At this price point, water based, you won't find longer lasting or glossier dressing. Just factor in a $0.50 squirt top cap.

This is my unbiased review, so please take this with a grain of salt. I'm a sole proprietorship, so I'm incredibly circumspect when choosing my products. With that being said, I've used practically every tire dressing on the market, with almost every manufacturer leaving me incredibly disappointed. Yes, this dressing doesn't produce a high shine, but as long as you apply two coats you'll be satisfied. Until then, I'm still searching for another dressing that produces a higher shine with one coat.

Like that it's not real liquidy. Real thick doesn't sling all over your car. Gives off a real nice subtitle sheen. Seems to last awhile doesn't wash off on the first rain storm you go threw.

It works well but it is not the best, it has good shine but it does not last more than a day, it has water repellency only until it rains and you do not see it anymore on your tires.

Great tire dressing. I purchased the gallon size and it's going to last me a while! Gives a great black finish to my tires with just the right amount of shine. Does not sling off. I've just recently started to use it on some exterior black trim and so far so good. Make sure you always shake it up as it separates after a while. No cons here.

Relatively easy to apply and spread around, especially with a tire dressing pad/sponge. Not much product was required to cover the area on my large tires; because of this, I didn't have to wipe any excess off. The bottle is opened/closed via a screw cap which leaves a large opening; the product isn't very thick (low viscosity, but definitely not watery), which makes for some "oops!" spill moments when pouring it onto an applicator pad -- I would prefer a flip-top cap with a smaller pour spout. The shine isn't as intense/gaudy as some of the heavy silicone products out there, which gives tires a nice look without being too ostentatious; it's a 'store shelf new' look, which some people can appreciate. Unfortunately, the shine doesn't last as long as I would like; only about a week or two on a daily driver, and a week following a few rainy days.

BOTTOM LINE: Decent product in a sizable volume, but doesn't last as long as I would like.

Currently the best product we have found for tires. Looks a little glossier then new tires, slippy dry surface after applied, no dirt sticks to tires in town or during highway driving, dirt will still stick if driving on gravel it helps to wash tires after product is applied and dry. We apply diluted 30% with DI water using the Optimum Spray Gun at 80psi.

This is my second review and really like this product. It is so nice to have a flexible amount of shine available with varying the number of coats you apply to your tires. Also, and importantly, if done correctly you can truly have a no sling, great looking tire shine! I love it for a simple matte finish to look clean, simple shine for daily driver, or gloss it up for a weekend/show!
I've been using this over two years and will continue! Try it if you haven't already and read some application instructions/reviews by experts to try your own level of shine.

After seeing the great reviews I decided to test this product. I diluted it 1:1 and do 2 coats 20 minutes apart from each other. It goes on very easy and looks extremely wet but after 10 minutes dries to a very nice not over the top shine. As others have said, this product is great for trim as well. This product stays on longer than other tire dressings I have tried, even if it rains and does not stain the driveway like Poorboy's Bold 'N Bright did to my concrete. The price is good and I usually only have to apply it every other week.

Very Very nice product. This is my first experience buying tire dressings in bulk gallon size, although I've tried several in smaller sizes. For those who buy this gem of a product, it's helpful to decant a small amount into an 8oz or 16oz squeeze bottle; otherwise pouring from the gallon jug is a little awkward. It goes on real easy (any good foam sponge will do) isn't messy, and actually stays on the tire! The shine isn't over the top.... probably a "medium" shine -- like a 6 out of 10 -- but classy just the same. Directions say it can be applied using a 1:1 mix with water using the Optimum Spray Gun with compressed air. If you're doing a big cash wash (multiple cars) complete with wheel wells, that would be the ticket. Either way it's applied, one of my favorite detail products... enjoy!

This is a highly recommended product from a variety of sources.

Initial applications may need to be repeated as this will be absorbed into neglected dry tires. I use CG APC to clean the tires before I apply this product. This will not sling onto your paint. Personally I apply it by hand with gloves on and work it into the tire. Wonderful results that last.

Perfect blend to give a nice shine without turning tires to bling. You can add more or less (# of coats applied) shine to your taste.

Main thing: water based so it doesn't sling! I love it and think it is great. The only con to this product would be if you want more total shine or to achieve a higher shine without having to add multiple coats.

I really like this product because it is non-greasy, does not sling, and has a nice finish without looking too glossy. Best of all, with repeated use of Opti-Gel, the tire has a very rich a nourished look to it. This is true even after washing the tires with Power Clean 3:1, which should remove any Opti-Gel that is left on the surface.

This is a great item because unlike the cheap tire shine gel products that are silicone based you would find at regular stores, this product is a water based and helps repels dirt and dust. For the gallon price it is well worth it so you'll have enough to last you aleast dozens of cars.

Great tire shine product! This tire gel takes a little time to get used to using it and getting that exact shine but once you get the process down it's great! It's water based which means it will NOT harm or brown your tires. Instead it creates a UV protectant and nourishes the rubber. I even use it on plastics and trim for a slight shine. Used in a sprayer like the Wagner Sprayer and applied in a fine mist proves best results with very little waste of product. A second coat will allow for a higher shine and it's recommended to let it sit for about 10 minutes before wiping the excess off. No sling, no mess, long lasting when used correct. Highly recommended!

Optimum Opti-bond Tire Gel is a very nice product that I strongly recommend, but it has some minor drawbacks. First, Optimum Opti-bond Tire Gel is not silicon based. Silicon based tire gels can sling all over your car, and while they look great at application, they can actually damage the rubber in your tires (as a slight brownish tint on my sidewalls can attest). Optimum Opti-bond Tire Gel gives your tires a very healthy clean look, without an over the top shiny finish. It sprays on easily, but can be a bit of trouble to work in. I find a sponge or rag is necessary to get complete coverage, and both of those can be a bit of a pain to wipe across a tire. Optimum Opti-bond Tire Gel actually nourishes your tires rather than hurting them. The durability is OK, expect a week or two before you start to notice the effects wearing off. You will have to either jack your car, or apply and then move your car and apply again to get to the part of the tire on the road.

This is my favorite tire shine product so far. It's water-based so it doesn't leave your tires brown if it gets washed off and it can be diluted to be as shiny or matte as you like.

I use a 1:1 mix of this with water in a pump sprayer and just spray it on my tires, let it sit for 15 minutes, and wipe off the extra with a microfiber towel. This leaves a great shine for quite a while as long as it doesn't rain which unfortunately seems to happen a little too often up here in upstate NY!

Not the glossiest results (if needed apply twice as is the general rule for all tire gels), but an excellent/natural looking gloss that seems to really stick to tire. The durability is really good, when my wheels get dirty you can tell the point of where tire bond had been applied just before grooves since the section where the tire gel was applied still looks really clean, seems to repel dirt (other tire gels I have tried seems to attract dirt).

I was using PB Bold and Bright and was happy with that, but wanted to try something else for greater durability. There was a bit of a learning curve as I first diluted into a spray. That did not work out well on the tires. Once I figured that I needed to apply at full strength with an applicator rather than spray bottle, my tires looked great. I saved the 1:1 diluted spray for the wheel wells and rubber molding. It seems to last longer than Bold and Bright. The diluted spray definitely holds up longer in the wheel wells and molding, even lasting through rain and car wash. Has a very nice look.

I used this tire dressing for the second time now after a terrible experience with the Black Fire Tire Gel. This product works great thanks to the recommendation by George. I found that instead of diluting it to spray....just dab a quarter size onto a foam applicator and apply it evenly and the gloss was fantastic. After letting it soak in for about a 1/2 hour I took a long drive with the car... and hardly any sling at all. I would definately recommend this tire gel to anyone who asks me :) I also want to thank George immensly as I was having a very difficult time with the Black Fire and he handled my issue quickly and introduced me to Opti-bond and I could not be happier. I keep a durafoam applicator to use only on the wells and another for tires. Spray the gel on the applicator and it is easy no drip. easier to apply on my XLR wells than Fade to Black and much better value at the gallon than FTB imo.
