Optimum Metal Polish Reviews
Customer Reviews
Was kind of skeptical when I first opened it due to the watery consistency. After applying onto wheels, exhaust tips and anything else metal... I am now on my third bottle and loving it.
Have a Cessna I used polish on, so far this is the best product I have tried. I am waiting to see how long the protection will last after polishing though.
I will update in a few months and see how it holds up. Very easy on and off with Cyclo Polisher.

Polish works well. A little runny, but it does a great job cleaning dirty pipes and other chrome finishes.
I don't know why I'm ever surprised when I try another Opt product & the results exceed my expectations, but I'm absolutely floored by what Optimum Metal Polish delivers. Can not wait to tackle my Airstream. Wish I could purchase by the gallon!
I used Optimum Metal Polish to clean and polish my 2013 BMW 335i's exhaust tips. Polish worked very well with steel wool and left exhaust tips gleaming. Polish is very runny which makes it a little challenging to work with but very happy with results.
Works as advertised/reported - terrific fine metal polish that can be made a bit more aggressive as you go harsher with the applicator. I hadn't a chemical metal polish in YEARS - this replaced a near-empty bottle of Clearkote's product. I find them to be quite similar, and am pleased with the purchase.
I really liked this product. Yes it is watery but it works and works very good, i cleaned muffler tips, engine parts, metal bumpers, etc. My favorite part is when i clean metal piece with APC, dried it, looks clean, then take this and clean it again, towel is so dirty like i never washed that part before, so you can defiantly see a difference.
Polish was very watery even after a long time shaking to mix it. It did not remove exhaust film from the tips on my car. I tried Simi Chrome from a local motorcycle shop and it did the trick. Overall the product was very disappointing.
I used this stuff on my MBRP exhaust tips today on my mustang. Cleaned up the tips really well first with a degreaser. Then let dry. Used a microfiber towel to apply this stuff. Very good product. Buffed by hand they shine in the dark. Very pleased so far. It reminds me of stuff I used in the past, a boutique metal/wheel polish that worked wonders but went out of business. Left me looking for a new product and I think this is it!
After spending close to an hour trying to clean the thick gunk from my exhaust tips with a well known brand of polish I decided to contact one of friends who is a full time detailer and he recommended this stuff. Lets just say the next day it was on my order from DI.
It's a good polish, but the description reads that it can be used to remove embedded brake dust, which to me reads that it will do just that. I didn't find that to be the case. I did try it on exhaust tips and chrome, and it worked very well. But, I bought it for polishing wheels, and it couldn't perform for me. As for it's ability to polish metals---yes, it can do that, and very well. But, I didn't find that it was any better than several other polishes.
This stuff worked very well on my exhaust tips.
Like many other users, I use it to polish the exhaust tips, wheels and side air vent trim piece on my E46 M3. I used to use the "nano" metal polish in cream form found at any auto store, but it does not come close to OMP. I followed the exhaust tips cleaning guide in the blog (steel wools for inside the tips) and it looks like new.
For wheels, I use Sonax full effect, followed by OMP, then 2 coats of PBW wheel sealant (use that on exhaust tips too - why not). 2 weeks have passed and I cannot notice the dirtiness on wheels/exhaust. There is brake dust on wheels, don't get me wrong. But the amount of the brake dust is must less than before the wheel detailing.

i used this to restore a 2004 m3's exhaust tips and it is FANTASTIC, if you are unsure about buying it, i can tell you it is worth it, nothing has worked on my m3's tips, paired with steel wool and OMP, they look like new and not to mention extremely polished at the same time.
Excellent product.
Highly recommended.
I use it on my vette exhaust tips.
Start out sooty and dirty; finish clean and shiny.
Takes very little effort to get outstanding results.

I used this product on exhaust tips as well as many people have. Very noticeable difference in finish when I was done. Very easy to appy and to remove as well. I would recommend to those in need of a reliable metal polish that will not let you down. Only negative was size of bottle.
I was amazed after using this on my exhaust tips. I had a lot of waterspots, soot, and etc, that normal OTC metal polish couldn't take care of, but it was a breeze for this. I would highly recommend it to everyone! Well worth the money!
Opi-metal polish is a very good on Motorcycle Chrome and polished aluminum. I applied Opi-metal with a 3" white polishing pad, and a 3" orbital polisher. It removed many of the micro-blemishes; dried water spots; and burned on road particles as well as regular scratches. I will re-order. I would rate it 4 out of 5.
Great product that really shines up those chrome/polished pieces! Works great with #0000 grade steel wool or even a microfiber towel.
This is great polish. My wheels, exhaust and a lot of my engine bay is polished. This keeps the gloss and adds a nice layer of protection. So far the best polish I have found.
I wish Dr. G at Optimum would have come out with this product a long time ago. This polish works amazingly well. You can use it with something as soft as a MF towel or as aggressive as #0000 steel wool. What's nice about this product is that it polishes and protects all in one step. Definitely a must-have product!
Worked very good. My exhaust tips was the only visible part of my car that I couldn't get to a shine. Used this with a terry cloth and shined them up like brand new.
great polish, outstanding finish when done, little goes along ways..
