Meguiar's Hyper Dressing D170 Reviews
Customer Reviews
I have used most of all the tire dressings out there and this is my favorite. The price is still fair and the results are great. I usually let it sit for about ten minutes and then I go back to level it. I usually order 5 gallons or more just in case the price keeps rising. I use 1-1 to get the best results
Even with prices increasing across the industry. This is still my favorite tire dressing and worth the money. I've tried other dressing when Hyper Dressing was on back order and out of stock. They don't even come close Hands down the best on the market!
This has been my go to tire dressing for quite some time now. It can be diluted to whatever shine you prefer satin/glossy which makes it easy to use on plastics, tires, engine bays and whatever else. I don't like that the price has gotten so high but just like everything else inflation strikes again. I used a competitors tire shine because I ran out of D170 and I just wasn't happy with it. I won't waste the product either so once it's gone I can go back to using my go to product and I can't wait!
Best tire and plastic dressing. Long lasting high shine.
Good product. Dilute based on your preference.
I used this at 4:1 dilution to dress an interior. One gallon of HD can make 20, 32-ounce bottles of 4:1 dilution. This stuff is amazing. I did a test spot on the dashboard of a Prius and you can still see the spot where I dressed it. It is not shiny at all and acts like a plastic restorer instead of a super shiny high gloss dressing. I've also seen people use this in a detail gun to dress interior. I'm guessing that will use even less product thus making it last longer. Used this on tires at full strength and gave a deep matte shine that I like. No more spray tire shine for me. Overall great product especially for people that want to cut costs down while keeping results the same
I use this on my off road tires on my jeep. It works very well on the tires as they large lugs on the sidewalls. I just spray it on and it self levels and makes the tires shine. All other dressings that you have to use a foam applicator for on these tires does not work well.
Also works very well on the plastic fenders no the jeep.

Let's start by saying you pay for what you get. The longevity of this items is a few days if that depending on terrain won't use ever again.
I put off buying this for so long because I wanted to try plenty of other products first due to the cost. but I wish I had just gone ahead and bought it right away. this is wonderful, multiple dilution ratios for multiple surfaces. you can control the shine based on how much water you cut it with. just a tremendous product, could not be happier with it. the scent is nice too!
one of the best water based tire dressings you can buy. can mix it to whatever level of shine you desire.
Very versatile product. Use it mainly for tires and wheel wells. It's my back up for interior shine.
It's all I buy. Want to revive Mercedes interior especially black interior? Hyper dressing 2:1 or 1:1
So far works better than what I anticipated, would definitely buy it again.
First time trying hyper dressing, so far it's great at 4:1
Great product by Meguiars, I use many of their other products in my detailing arsenal. I like the fact that you can just spray and walk away, only occasionally do you need a mild second spritz. Depending on how you dilute it you can go glossy down to matte, but still looks good. I prefer a water based dressing, don't like the gunky build up from silicone based products. Will definitely continue using this product.
Great on interiors. Also smells good.
Awesome product. Pros - goes a long way adjustable sheen. Cons - having to get a new bottle once you used the current one lol. Quick easy must have in the line-up.
Fantastic water based dressing! I use it 3:1 for engine detailing.
This is my go to product for tire, and engine dressing for all of my vehicles. I love that it doesn't have the sling like most silicon tire products have. I can freshen up my tires every 4 days without worrying about buildup on the rubber. I spray HD on a cloth and wipe on the tire.
Excellent and reliable product, for a quick and inmediate results works perfect, would not last long enough but am pleased
Hyper Dressing is the most versatile use on any rubber or vinyl product in the detailing world. The BEST find I have had in the short two years I have been detailing. The fact that it can be diluted up to 4:1 is the best thing about it. Super shine down to the new black look. I have recently tried a couple of competitors products and found myself disappointed and reaching for my Hyper Dressing. AWESOME product by a trusted name in the detailing industry. The cons, well, I really haven't found one yet.
Meg's Hyper Dressing is exactly what I expected and needed. I am using HD primarily for wheel wells, tires and engines. I like the option of being able to dilute to the amount of shine desired. My wheel wells and engines were just sprayed on and walked away and look fantastic. I am not looking for durability and good with the length of time as weather permits. I perform weekly washes anyway so keeps me from having a take the extra time removing silicone based products that will last much longer. If it rains and washes away the Hyper Dressing, I am ok that with since its time to wash my vehicle again anyway. Hyper Dressing suits my needs and highly recommend!
No matter what other products I try, I always come back to Meguiar's Hyper Dressing.
Okay gloss on tires, even at full strength it does not provide a high gloss shine. Must be wiped on, spraying it on,it does not dry, still runs even after 10 min. Meguiar's ultimate shine spray which can be bought anywhere provides a superior gloss and absorbs and dries in minutes.
Best tire dressing I've ever used UNDILUTED! No sling , super high gloss love it
Meguiar's Hyper Dressing is hands down THE Best dressing for the engine bay. When properly diluted to the lowest ratio of 4:1 which is the lowest shine, NOTHING can compare to its satin finish. I've tried every other dressing on the market and none have created this OEM Plus finish. Once the engine bay is properly cleaned with a APC, dry the excess water and just spray down the entire engine bay covering everything with Hyper Dressing and close the hood. No need to wipe or anything else let this product just sit and dry on its own and the next day you will be amazed on the finish it gives, it honestly looks better then new showroom car finish. The only down side is the price, but the results that it creates makes up for it.
Great initial shine. It does sling pretty bad but a good value.
Didn't last through one rain. Previously I applied McGuires high endurance gel to the tires and trim on two vehicles. I applied this hyper dressing over the gel treated tires and trim on vehicle one and all the shine was gone after one rain. Vehicle two was left with the gel only is still shining after a month.
I don't reccomend this dressing because it doesn't hold up to the elements.

It has a great look to it, but slings on the car no matter how much I try to wipe it off. I never had this issue with Optimum tire gel. $40 down the drain. :-(
Does a nice job without being greasy. Easy to apply and being able to set the gloss level is great. Personally, I like a natural luster, and this one does it! Lasts pretty good, but not phenomenally; a terrific value.

Pros-
Can be diluted to your desired shine
Price
Cons-
Doesnt last long in wet weather.
Can sling on tires if you dont buff off
This product is and excellent dressing when you arent expecting wet weather and last a long time when not exposed to moisture. Its the perfect dressing for engines and you spray walk away. Then come back and remove excess. The engine looks great for a long time. I also use this in the wheel wells as its pretty cheap to mix up a bottle.

My favorite dressing...you get satin to glossy in one bottle, depending on how you dilute it. Lasts a good few weeks and I love the deep satin look on my tires.
