Lake Country Tire Dressing Applicator Reviews
Customer Reviews
Long term review but I'll keep it as short as possible. This thing is an absolute tank. I've been using the same sponge for YEARS to apply megs hyper dressing to the tires of my daily after every single wash, as well as the rest of the cars in my house and it's still in great working order, still not crumbling pieces, it just got more pliable which isn't really a bad thing as it conforms well and applies very evenly and gets into the cracks really well if you load it up well. The applicator has excellent control so you can pinch it to get into the tight gap between the rim of the wheel and the tire's sidewall without smearing product all over the rim. Bought another one for when the day finally comes where I have to retire the old one, but after well over 4 years of the original purchase, I don't know when that may be. HIGHLY recommended for the enthusiast AND specially for shop use since these things are so durable and can take such a beating. At the price, you should definitely grab multiple (at least two) so you can have one for the smooth, good condition tires and another for rugged, pickup style tires that might give it a better beating. These things are a steal!
Great tire dressing applicators
It's a little large but otherwise good and easy to use. I use it with Poorboy's Bold and Bright and it works very well, leaving behind a smooth, even finish that might otherwise not have occurred had I used a microfiber pad or a brush to apply.
Works very well. I also like that I can wash it out easily after I am done using it. Will buy again.
I bought this as I was not pleased with Adam's tire dressing applicator. Tried this applicator out and it does make a difference over my Adam's tire dressing applicator. It helps with application in the sense that it makes better use of your product compared to my previous applicator. Not only this but it is a better form factor as it works great in tighter spaces on lowered cars or sports cars where the gap in between the tire and fender is not a lot. Recommend to anyone that puts a tire dressing on their car(s) regularly.
Is of high quality I anticipate many years of use
I'm very happy with this tire dressing applicator for the price. Works well, fair price, and arrived quickly on time.
Blown away. A great fit for your hand with the slits on the side allowing to grasp with ease. Also the perfect amount of firmness and product absorption within the applicator to prevent sling. Best 3 dollars I ever spent!
Good applicator for the price, slits on the side so its not as bulky as it seems. Durable and pliable. A good choice.
Nice applicator. Tried different ones before and this one is not to soft and not to hard. Cleans easily.
Quality applicator. Been using it quite a bunch lately and it appears to be pretty durable. Should last for a while and at 3 bucks when I need to buy a new one it's no big deal. If I had to make one complaint it would be that it's probably a bit too big, BUT with the slits in the side it makes it very easy to hold and it's very pliable which helps negate the size. Will definitely buy another one when I need to.
The best sponge applicator I've ever used, try it, you won't be disappointed.
Very solid applicator. I can tell the two I bought are going to last me a long time. Highly recommend.
Makes applications on tires easy with no mess. Rinse out with warm water, let it dry, and it's ready to be used again. Stays pliant.
This applicator does it's job well. The tire dressing goes on the tire and not on your fingers. I've had this applicator for almost 2 years and it's still solid. Bought a second one on sale.
Like everyone, this is one of the most annoying areas of detailing, the tire applicator. Well after numerous attempts at other applicators, I was left to this one. Bought two of them and it's safe to say, it's the only applicator I plan on purchasing here forward. I use Gyeon Q2M Tire Dressing with my Applicator. No rips, no tears.
Love this applicator. I use it on my truck tires. I like the fact that it has a groove so you have a place to put your fingers. I can also get into all the grooves of my tires with my tire shine product. And the price is right.
When applying dressings to tires with a lot of tread and raised logos, it's a good idea to get an applicator sponge, especially if you don't want to waste time trying to cover all the tiny gaps using a cloth. This product met that need. The product is on the thick side, much beefier than I had expected. It also seems relatively durable -- I've used it about five times and it's still going, with no signs of wear/break-down.
BOTTOM LINE: If you're looking for a decent tire dressing applicator that has some beef and durability to it, this fits the bill

A very good applicator, holds a good amount of product, & I can apply a nice, even coat of tire shine. Also, it's soft enough to apply interior leather conditioning. I would certainly buy again & recommend to my friends
I bought this applicator pad as a trial not expecting much. Honestly, I tried more than a few pads on here and I'm pretty happy with this one!!! Great buy! I would have a backup one to do small crevices and small area in the rim protector area of the tire, but otherwise happy.
Works well, before I used the product and sprayed on the tire, Now by using the applicator it go's where you want it to go.
It's just a piece of foam - right? That's what I thought. Everything else I tried using would shred or break down pretty quickly - but not this Lake Country applicator. If you've been on the fence about paying a few bucks for a "special" applicator - do it. I've been using it with Poorboy's Bold and Bright - and it makes the whole process very easy. You don't have to apply a lot of pressure - the applicator does a great job of distributing the dressing over the tire. The pad cleans up quickly with some detergent - I let it dry overnight - then toss in a baggie for my next use. Like any foam product - it's going to wear out eventually - but so far so good! With that in mind, I'll probably pick up a few more with my next purchase.
The pads come split on two sides so you have the option to finish cutting them in two. A serrated knife seems to work the best. You are left with two fairly thick pads. The foam is dense enough to hold up well. Give them a wash with a strong detergent or pad cleaner and they will probably last quite a while.
These work Great. Easy to hold and use. Worth buying. I recommend buying many of these for convenience.
Easy to hold since it's twice the thickness of a normal pad. I use it to apply CarPro PEARL on my tires and it works very well. Makes it quick and easy.
Good buy. Easy to hold while applying tire dressings. Also very easy to clean after uses.
This was a great pickup, I got it to use with the optimum tire gel and it helps with spreading a good amount of tire shine on the wheels and leaves a nice clean shine with no sling of tire gel on the side of the vehicle.
Wish I would have bought this sooner. Makes dressing my tires a lot easier. Lasts me a couple months before I need to replace it.
Fantastic price and performance!
Works great, saves the hands !!
I think I found my new favorite applicator for tire dressing. Very durable and allows me to easily apply the tire dressing with minimal contact to the wheel. Excellent quality compared to many other pads I've used that start to fall apart after a few uses.
One more thing. Storage Promotes Longevity. I store my applicator in a Plastic Zip-Loc Bag and I've used it on over 15 cars and is still going strong!
Applicator works Great! I've used mine with Poorboy's Bright & Bold Tire Gel and it ensures exceptional coverage. Hands get pretty filthy but that's why all Detailers should be using rubber gloves. If you're not, I highly recommend it .
On sale, this is a good deal and a fine product. However, it's little more than a foam applicator with slots cut into the side. If you can get these for a deal, go fot it, otherwise, a cheap foam applicator cut in half also works.
Slots for fingers are good. I use Adams VRT to put the shine on. Because the bottom of the surface is flat I have to go over some areas more than once (sometimes 3 times) Where there is raised lettering. For a few more bucks I may try a hex grip tire applicator that adams polishes has. But for the price of this product you really cant beat it.
Love it! Perfect applicator for tire dressings. Holding up well.
I previously used basic kitchen sponges to apply tire dressing. They seemed to break down and shred fairly easily. Because of the type of foam material used in its construction, I have not had the same problem with this applicator. The finger slots give me a good grip while keeping my fingers free of dressing.
These are really durable and comfy to use. Easy to grip and i always find sponge applicators work better or tires.
Great applicator. Thick enough that you do not get product on your hands while using it. A great size for all types of tires - from smaller sidewalls to larger sidewalls, this pad makes applying tire shine a breeze!
Used it twice. Seems fine so far. Time will tell I guess.
Best tire applicator yet and works great with "Bold N Bright" and easy to clean due to a water based dressing.
This is one terrific product. It enables you to apply the tire dressing with great accuracy -- hardly ever get any on the wheels -- and it is very fast. A perfect example of how the right tool makes a job easy. I now own three.
I love this applicator! Even if you don't really hit the tire during the wash, the sturdy foam foam cleans very well. When used with the Optimum tire gel I get a perfect tire every time. After about 20 cars its only showing slight wear.
I used to purchase a similar product from another name-brand supplier but they switched to a crappy, soft-foam style that fell apart almost immediately. After getting my money back, I bought a set of these and haven't looked back. They are great and are holding up wonderfully so far.
Great applicator , fits nicely on low profile tires ,no mess !!!
Conveniently cut so that you can squeeze a hand hold without curving the side you're applying stuff with. They're foam and going to be rubbed on, so they'll eventually break down. I bought six, since they're not that expensive. I use these to apply Poorboy's World Wheel Sealant to my chrome wheels.
I had the same results as David R. stated. Used it a few times and started to fall apart.
Great product. Kept the dressing off my fingers. Will definitely buy another one when this one dies.
Very nice applicator. Works best with water based dressings.
Excellent Product. Perfect size for tires of all sizes. Fits the hand nicely. You should peel the two sides of the applicator apart to localize the tire dressing product (I use 303 protectant) on one side of the applicator. I have used it several times and it looks like it is still brand new. Don't know how I lived without it all these years. After use, I store mine in a small sealed plastic container wet side down - this ensures the part I hold on to is always dry next time.
Highly recommended.
Highly recommended.
Really good Applicators for the tires. Used in conjunction with Blackfire Tire Gel. Don't know if it's the applicator or the tire gel; but it's hard to have the water absorbed from the applicator after cleaning. Shows that they're doing their job on the tires.
This tire dressing applicator worked very well. I purchased these to use with OPT tire gel. Easy to use and did not get any of the tire dressing on my hands. Seems very durable and should last for quite a while. Well worth the money!
First pad is holding up well. Surprisingly simply design. I've not had any issues using the pad, and cleanup is easy.
I purchased this foam applicator recently, and I will never buy again. This is just a piece of foam cut in a circle. Theirs no way of using multiple time and not getting Tire dressing on your hands. If product had dual density foam or some other design to help stop the dressing from going to the part you hold. Your better off buying the dollar ones for your local parts or dollar store.
DI Reply: The key to using this tire dressing applicator properly is to use only one side for the dressing and the other to hold. You want to fold the applicator open a few times to separate the slit dividing the applicator pad. I've found that these are very effective and definitely out last most of the cheaper applicators in the stores as the foam doesn't deteriorate like cheaper ones.

Works very well, haven't noticed any breakdown of the foam after 5-6 applications.
I personally like to use this on low profile tires. I poured it on the sponge n wiped on tires not on my hands. I used it on two cars and put it in the washer. Came out the same as I bought it. For bigger tires you just gotta go a few more passes. It's not a bad product. I'll still keep my options open. Thanks D.I.
I was expecting it to have a foam backing like many of the other offered applicators. I actually prefer this over the half foam/sponge. With the other applicators the foam separates from the sponge and the applicator becomes less useful
Works like a champ. I use these to both put on tire dressing and apply dressing to exterior trim.
I have used other sponge type applicators in the past that were nowhere near as durable.

These applicators are bigger than I was expecting, which is a good thing. The finger pockets make them extremely user friendly. They will be a mainstay in my arsenal.
was disappointed in the lack of longevity. have two cars I wash and dress tires on almost every weekend. this applicator did not make it through the summer before it started to break down and crumble. it was leaving little bits all over my wheels after dressing tires. cheap MF applicators from Wal-Mart last longer.
Prior to this, I had a foam tire applicator that came with my tire shine. After a few months, that foam applicator has been too worn out, because of its poor quality. This tire dressing applicator is superb. With a slot for the fingers, you won't have to worry about product getting on your hands, and with its durable foam, you can expect many uses out of it. It also applies tire dressing very evenly, and I've noticed that it's minimized sling when compared to my old applicator.
I really like this applicator. It keeps your hands/fingers clean while applying tire dressings, a nice investment!
