Lake Country Orange Light Cutting Pad Reviews
Customer Reviews
If you had just one pad in your arsenal this would be it. Decent correcting ability and finishes down pretty darn good. Paint dependent of course. Always reasonably priced. I recommend them.
They worked really well.
It partially depends on your buffer. I view this as the in between pad. With an aggressive polish it will remove most swirls and water marks. As far as scratches go it has some cut, but it really thrives on light- to just barely entering moderate scratches. If you have something beyond that pick up a yellow pad(s) for sure.
First time using these Lake Country orange cutting pads and I like them, I used them with Griot's BOSS Correcting Cream on a Japanese car with relatively soft clearcoat and it took out all but the worst of the scratches and swirl marks. I will definitely buy again but I will also be trying the Force pads.
Hats off to Lake Country for another great product, it gives the results needed to make my customers happy. And Detailed Image A BIG thumbs up for your price and selection. You guys are awesome five stars in my book.
I bought the Lake Country orange cutting pad in the 3 inch size. I should have gotten the 3.5 inch with the flair out at the bottom, but these pads work great anyway. Flexible for what I need them to do and easy clean up. Good product. And Detailed Image shipped them to me fast.
Used once so far. Excellent results with Meguiar's 105 cutting polish. After cleaning, pad still looks new. Very pleased.
Great pad for light to moderate scratch removal.
Very good pads for about everything. A good item to reach for when the random things you find on your own car or doing wholesale work. Works well on rotary, DA or a long throw. Have purchased close to 100 of these and have never had a pad fail yet.
I like this pad, just be careful of corners or it is easier to burn your paint off if you buff that spot too hard! As I did unfortunately!
Good workhorse pad, a must have. Worked well, cleaned up well. The rounded top helps maneuver the bumps. when washing the pads the backing is pliable enough to squeeze out.
The 6.5 orange pads were my "go to"pads before I tried these 5.5 pads.I like the slightly smaller size and they seem to perform a little better than the 6.5 pads.My new go to pad-with Megs 105 and 205 you can really achieve great results with these pads(I use them on a PC).
This was my first attempt at using a DA polisher. Used with a Porter Cable and M105 on a black Jetta. Worked great at removing swirls and light scratches. I have some other blemishes that might need a bit more aggressive pad or possibly wool. Seems this is a perfect "all purpose" pad for restoring the shine to your paint. Higher speeds on the DA seemed to be more effective.
First time using the L.C. orange pads, and they worked out just fine! I used them with the M105 and it did the job! Got to get them when they go on sale!

I use this with the Menzerna 1500 and 2500 polishes. Has very controlled abrasion, lasts basically a whole mid-size car (large panels) without clogging up and cleans well after a soak in the pad cleaning solution. Distributes pressure nicely by staying level with the surface, and seems gentle to clear coat on edges and bumps.
Pad worked out well didn't have any problems with it. Was using it on the boss.
Pros: pad cuts well, holds on to the backing plate well.
Cons: none

Used this pad on Harley Davidson detail. I used a FLEX PE 8 Kompakt Rotary Polisher with this pads, low rpm and slow hand movement. Great Go To Pad.
They give excellent results.

I bought some orange and white pads as my current pads are getting iffy. The last time I bought pads they were lake country. These are not at all the same, they are thinner and don't feel as of the same grade as my last purchase. I was pretty disapointed, but was able to get through the task.
Pad is great, no complaints.
Has a good cut no problems with them .good for light scratches or love touches how ever it is you talk to your cars . Have also the 3 inch
I bought these pads when initially purchased my polisher. My car is really scratched/spider webbed up but with Menzerna SI did lighten some of it up. I would reccommend these pads anyday, however after trying Lake Country CCS pads the flat foam have been put aside for now, just a personal preference.
I have been using Lake country orange pads for years. They are my "go to " pad.Easy to use and always give great results from heavy to light correction. If you only get one pad--get the orange pad.
Great pad used with megs 205 and loved the results!
I also had the problem of delamination. The pad has a nice cell structure, and with Meg's 105 I get an nice light cut and good finish. This pad, however seems to generate a LOT of heat in the middle and then collapse and delaminate. I actually had one explode! I love the crimson h2o LCs as they can run quite a while and have none of the same issues.
Would definitely buy these pads again and will do so. Great cutting and polishing abilities combined with your prefered choice of compound polish and going with a finishing pad, glazes and wax. A must have!
Quality pads, seem to work fine.
This pad is awesome. I used it on my Griot's Garage Machine on 5-6. I used some Megs 205 polish and with some pressure here and there. The car is stunning. This pad is awesome. I will be buying more once I use the heck out of this one.
Used with a PC 7424 XP and M105 this pad cuts pretty nicely. Great build as all the other LC pads.
Phenomenal pad(s). the whole line of these 3" pads from Lake country are awesome. I love the chamfered heads which allow you to get into slightly smaller areas that if the chamfer was not there. These pads also seem to channel or keep the product at the surface, nice for a finishing polish like Meg's 205. Throwing away all of my other 3" pads!
This could be nice pad however, after the second use, the Velcro backing delaminated from the pad. This pad, replaced an identical pad which suffered the same fate. I have LC white pads that take a lot more abuse than these orange pads, and they're problem free. Think I'll call LC and ask if they'll replace the orange pads.
Great pad for compound and stronger polish. Easily removed some surface imperfections with my Porter Cable. Very easy to clean as well.
Nice and versatile pads that can do a great amount of paint correction. I tried the orange pad on a couple different cars and it worked great for both.
Lake Country pads always work great as expected.
Awesome pad for removing the swirls on my car. I used this with m105.
This pad works very well, even if your cutting agents aren't the best. All I had available was Megs ScratchX, while waiting on some M105, and it worked great!!
Pad life has been good, with no separation.

This cuts nicely with a DA. Would recommend.
Not being a pro but detailing my cars as a hobby I was looking for a AIO pad and this is it.
LC pads are awesome.
Remember that you need a few of each color to do an entire car. I usually use 3 of each color on the car. Sometimes I can get away with less yellow/orange depending on the condition.

I have used and cleaned the pad per the instructions and have had no problems with any of my pads separating from the hook and loop backing. This is my "Go To" pad now for polishing the finish on all of our cars. It is not too aggressive and did the job quickly. I have used other pads and I keep coming back to Lake Country, whether it is the CCS or the flat pads they do the job and well.

This pad works in polishes very well and has good cutting power. If you have medium/light swirls to remove, this pad works very well.

Very similar in performance and versatility to the purple foamed wool LC pad... it works great with any polish. It has less cutting ability than the PFW LC pad but is definitely the go-to pad on most any paint.

The pad did it's job well but the foam started seperating from the velcro backing after limited use. I think this might be less likely to happen with a 6" backing plate, I was using a 5". Either way, I did one car (2 passes over the whole car, 3 on hood and roof) and the pad is pretty well shot. I'm sure I share part of the blame but I've heard others have this happen as well. Overall it performed well but I was disappointed with how little use I got out of it.
