Lake Country Blue Hybrid Foamed Wool Pad Reviews
Customer Reviews
These pads are a game changer. I had been using griots knitted wool for years. For grins I decided to give these a try. Wish I had started using them years ago.

Paint slayer!
This pad rips up defects when paired with a Rupes polisher and Scholl's Concepts S2 shock cut. What I love more than these pads ability to cut paint is how predictable and linear the amount of heat they generates is. The more pressure you put on the machine and the pad the more cut you get. Lay off your machine and let it just free spin on the last few cutting passes, you get a damn near perfect finish. In my professional opinion, there's a lot of people out there that don't see the benefit in having a refined cutting phase. The less work you leave yourself after cutting the better. Polishes and polishing pads only get you so far, and this is definitely the type of pad to deliver professional results every time.
Just like my foam pads, I take my 40° fan tip from my pressure washer and pressure wash these things from the center outward to clean them, then blow them out with compressed air while they're on the machine. If they're really caked and gummed up I use a little bit of AP before pressure washing them. I've had several of these last me an entire year if they're taken care of properly.

Did great job on hard paint
Best pad ever. Used this pad for the first time with jescar correcting compound on freshly painted clear coat, sanded with 2000 grt, one pass , amazing results, even better than menzerna 400. You have to try it to believe it...
My Go To Pad After 50 Years Of Doing Paint & Body Work. The Best Pad I Have Ever Used. 6 inch Pad and A Flex 3401 Polisher Works Miracles On Major Paint Corrections On Texas Sun Damaged Vehicles. I am using Meguiars 105 Ultra Cut---Which Cuts And Finishes With No Need To Polish. But Leaves Too Much Dust For My Liking. Switching To Carpro Clearcut For This Reason Only---Should Cut And Finish Just As Good. Thanks Detail Image For A great Price On these Pads With Cheap And Fast Shipping.
I have never used any type of wool pad before, but after reading good things about the LC blue foamed wool pad I decided to try it. What a difference from the red Meguiars cutting pad I had been using. The LC pad cut and finished very well. I was surprised at how easy it was to remove heavy swirls, much easier then with the Meguiars pad. The finish was much better also there was no hazing. I have only used this pad with Wolfgang Uber compound, and I am very pleased with the results and ease of use.
I used the purple wood pad before, and this blue pad is definitely better in my opinion. I only saw fibers being produced the first time I used it and that was it. After being used for a little while and ran through a pad washer it doesn't seem to throw fibers anymore.
Wish it came in a 5" versus only 6".

I have not had the opportunity to use the LC Blue pad yet but, I am very impressed with the quality of the pad. Very high quality and well made. It looks like it will last a long time. As soon as I have an opportunity to use the pad I will report back and let everyone know how it works.
I tried these pads after wanting a faster cut than I get from my meguiars cutting discs. (time is money)
I was very hesitant at first because I didn't want to induce too much marring from such an agressive pad.
But believe me when I say, I've tested this pad alot and it keeps impressing me! It cuts extremely fast, and it will surprise you on how well it finishes down.
It is an absolute much have for any professional. I use exclusively with Meguiars M100 Compound paired with Porter Cable and Rupes 21.
Pros:
- Fast cut, Finishes down good for a wool pad. Price is right!
- Turns Porter Cable into a beast!
Cons:
- Not as smooth as foam pads & microfiber cutting pads, due to reduced padding. This just makes it a little rougher than you may be used to with pads with more cushion.
- Low padding means its not ideal for contours and edges.

After several uses of the LC Blue, I'm impressed. I've been a big fan of the LC purple wool pad in the past, and this blue wool seems to be slightly better. Less fibers being lost during use. Less degradation of the shape as it's used. The degree of cut during polishing seems the same or better. It's a winner!
