Gyeon Mohs Evo Reviews
Professional Detailer Reviews
Gyeon Mohs has been a staple in the Gyeon line and the new Evo version improves it even more by being easier to use, and only requiring one layer. While you may think 2 is better than 1, I promise you this one layer is doing the Mohst.

One of the easiest coatings to apply. Amazing hydrophobics. The gloss and slickness you get from even just 1 layer is insane... 2 layers take the durability up and the slickness a tad. I would recommend this to anyone new to ceramic coatings. Be aware of the fast flash time, be diligent about going over areas you are losing track of.
Have used Geyon Can Coat in the past with great results and decided to give Mohs a try. I would say it was as easy to apply as the Can Coat. The time to wipe off was easy to identify. I coated a GMC Canyon and used the entire 50ml bottle. Included door sills and wheels. Great product and will certainly use it again.
I can't speak to durability, but the application process was fast and easy. The car is extremely slick and I hope this coating goes the distance. I also applied it to all gloss plastic trim around the car, the painted door jams and painted trunk channels. I used about 35ml on a Mazda CX-5. I don't think there would be enough for 2 coats from a single 50ml bottle; maybe just do a 2nd coat on the areas which receive the heaviest abuse, if you wish. You can hold it up to a light to see how much is in there.
The included applicator is not good. The stitching came apart and the inner foam block wanted to come out. It also has no barrier to prevent coating soaking in to the foam. You'd be better off using a coating saver applicator and with that, you'll use less product.

This is the first time I applied Gyeon Mohs Evo. What an amazing candy gloss that this coating put down. The vehicle was a '24 Red Chevy Colorado. The owner was amazed at the clarity and high gloss shine.
Extremely easy to use and remove the coating. I did not have any high spots. This will be my go to 3 year coating.

Having used Mohs before and now Evo I have to say the application is much easier. And it still provides the expected glossy, hydrophobic finish I come to expect from Gyeon products. I found the "beading" flash to be difficult to see on the white paint I was working on but got pretty good at expecting a very quick flash and wiping off accordingly.
I coated my wife's Ford Expedition and it came out amazing. If you are coating a big vehicle, definitely get the 50ml bottle. I had enough to finish a single coat with the 50ml bottle. The MOHS product cures quickly and levels very easily. Support from Gyeon regarding my questions was also amazing. I bought a Gyeon Bald Wipe towel for leveling which worked very well and buffed with TRC Creature towel. The Gyeon Prep worked so nicely to get the surface ready for the coating too.

Just like everyone above said, put it on about a 2' x 2' area in one pass, then wipe off; repeat. I bought the 50ml bottle, did a 2024 Kia Sorento, including the wheels, & a 2nd coat on the entire hood, front bumper & front of side mirrors, before bottle was empty
MOHS is amazing! love it
Gyeon Mohs is super slick and extremely hydrophobic. I got a 50ml bottle for our new Honda Civic Sport Sedan. I put two coats on the car and one on the wheel faces. This was my first coating so I thought I was using too much, but reading above it appears others are using way too much. The other comments are true that it flashes extremely fast. I found myself working in smaller sections as I went because it was flashing quick. The only thing is on black paint it's hard to see it sweat sometimes. A coating that rainbows like Gyeon Pure may be easier to see on black paint, but it worked out fine for me.
I would install Mohs again in a heartbeat.

Definitely easy to apply and enjoyed the first rain that fell on the coat! Weather didn't help on the first preparation day, but better in second day even though had a lot of issues to clean up and do more correction that had been previously done. Long story short, at the end it was dark and doing application outside, not the perfect environment. I thought it would be a huge fail, but to my surprise it worked out very well. Also, life got on the way of maintenance, after 6 months it got a bit clogged, but iron and acid helped to restore, feels like it's almost reapplied. No protection on top of it, allowing proper maintenance to keep it clean. Very glad I got this coating, would use again without hesitating
Used a 30ML bottle and got most of a Corolla. Definitely needed a 50ml next time. Quick removal after it starts sweating. Will see how it holds up as I was only able to do one coat.
Great Coating Easy To Use
I am not a professional detailer but I have used CarPro coatings in my car collection. I tried Gyon and it's amazing and easy to use with good results. What I like the most is the 3 year longevity.
Love how easy this is to use and wipe off. One of the easiest I've used for removal.
Did as suggested on Gyeon's site and put on thick. But unfortunately a 30ml only coated about 2/3 of my Subaru Outback and now I'm forced to keep it parked in the garage for another several days while I wait for another bottle. Just a heads up to get the 50ml at a minimum. What's on there now is super slick and looks great.

Mohs Evo is my current coating of choice for customers. It's super easy to apply and remove. I found Gyeon's expected usage to be right on%u2014used about 20-25 mL per application for a Tesla Y and Subaru Forester.
Easy application. Don't use this coating with the foam block it comes with as it absorbs so my ceramic it will not be enough to finish a car. I like to use the original gyeon square 4x4 pads with it
Probably my new go-to coating for customer vehicles. I have completed multiple sedans and coupes with the 30ml bottle and still had some left over. Not sure how some people can only get half a vehicle done, I'd say you're using way too much coating. Less is more. I will say the flash time is rather quick. With the chemical make-up of the EVO coatings, I noticed immediately how quickly it flashed. I adjusted my approach and worked in smaller sections compared to a plain Si02 coating and didn't notice much difference.
Compared to the old Mohs coating, I noticed that application and removal is much smoother with the EVO coating. Outside of the quick flash, the coating removes extremely easily and doesn't clog up towels immediately. I noticed with previous Gyeon coatings, I was using 4 towels to remove the coating on a coupe or sedan, now with the EVO coatings on a similar size vehicle I can use 2 towels.
For the 50ml bottle, I've completed a few 3/4 ton trucks with enough left over to coat the wheels, door jambs, under the hood, and in the wheel wells. The quantity of the coating is really an irrelevant factor to me, I care more about the performance and longevity, all of which remains untested as of now.
If you're questioning buying this product, it's cheap enough to give it a try. From a backyard detailer and weekend warrior, I buy multiple of these at a time to keep them in stock. Gyeon has been my coating choice for the past 5 years and will continue to be.

30 ML is not enough. We ran out 2/3 of the way into my wife's Toyota RAV4. A little window on side of bottle would have helped keep track of how much was being used.
Pros: Goes on nice, easy to remove leaves a great shine and very slick finish. I like using it just need to remove fast and can't do a cross hatch pattern more you work it it less effective it is.Easy to use. No cons for me.
Super easy to use coating. Looks as good as CSL EXO but much easier to use. Mohs Evo doesn't seem to spread to adjacent panels during wipe off. Having said that, it goes on much thicker than csl. Would recommend the 50ml bottle if planning to do wheels.
I would not buy Gyeon Mohs Evo again for a couple reasons but I want to give a backstory. I bought a 30ml bottle for my moms coupe (1 coat for body and 1 coat for wheels) and a 50ml for my coupe (2 coat for body 1 for wheels). When I was using the 30ml bottle today, I ran out of the 30ml when I was halfway through with her car. I had to crack open my 50 ml to continue and by the time I was done with 1 coat to the body and 1 coat to the wheels, the 50ml bottle was 2/3 way done.
I've used many coatings in the past and I've never had this happen before. I also had trouble with the application and had a lot of problems with removal. The coating is not forgiving after that 10-30 second window which is impossible to time. The included applicator sucks and I ended up buying the auto fiber mini applicators, and no towel included.
Overall, I'm not impressed with this coating and I'm staying away from it. I'm going back to Gtechniq CSL. Buy something else! And if you do buy this coating, don't even think about buying the 30ml unless you own a Smart car.

This coating was unbelievably easy to apply and wipe off. For me in my garage , by the time I applied it and put my applicator down it was ready to be wiped off. It started sweating almost immediately. I used a 2 towel method for removal and it was just to easy but incredibly slick. I did 2 coats for complete coverage and added durability. Can't wait for the first wash!
Unbelievably slick! You will have to work in smaller sections as the coating flashes extremely fast. Easy to remove and I only had one high spot that needed fixed. I have always used GTechniq CSL and EXo using a one base coat with two top coats. Gyeon Mohs EVO claims to work well with only one coat. I went ahead and applied two coats for the extra longevity. We will see show it holds up compared to CSL/Exo which has been my go to.
Application was easy and straight forward. Look for the product to start "sweating" around 15-30 seconds after application. Removal was super simple. I couldn't believe how effortless it was to remove. Fairly slick upon wipe off as well. Be careful on black plastic trim. It flashes even quicker there and you need to remove very quickly to avoid an uneven/streaky surface. Some coatings can be used for trim and paint without issues, but in my opinion, this isn't one of them. I recommend using a dedicated trim coating. Great brilliant shine when done and at a great price! If the durability claims are met, this will be a winner for sure!
