Gtechniq Marine Multi-Stage Polish Reviews

Sometimes I get the urge to buy a product to replace one I am currently using (which I am perfectly satisfied with) thinking it will be superior and most of the time I am disappointed and waste my money. That what happened to me with Gtechniq Marine Multi-Stage Polish. For years I have used 3D One on the gelcoat of my boat and it works great. It is great example of a pad-dependent compound/polish and has amazingly long working time. When I saw that Gtechniq came out with a Marine line and included a multi-stage polish specifically made for gelcoat I thought I would give it a try. The results were less than impressive. It has decent working time and is easy to remove, but it lacked both the cutting ability of other competitors like 3D One, as well as the ability to finish down as well, which was extremely odd as usually these pad dependent compounds/polishes will do one or the other better.
Perhaps this product will work well with like new gelcoat, but in my experience if there is any correction necessary there are better options available....far better. The results were extremely disappointing and another lesson for me to not get caught up in the marketing hype of these products and the paid endorsements and to stick with products that I know perform well.
