It's a lot quieter and smoother than the regular beast. It feels like it's speed 6 is a 5 on the beast. The backing plate is also standard sized. You really can't beat forced rotation for 1-steps and never have to mark pads and worry about pad stall and if you have a trouble spot add pressure. Own many but if I could only take one polisher I would grab forced rotation they are just solid workhorses.

Would they buy this item again? Yes
The best polisher I've used. I've always used Flex machines, mainly the 3401VRG. This is just an updated version that's runs cooler and quieter, no more risk of hitting your hand on the hot metal head.
Love this machine and use it many times a week, and still have my 3401 as backup for a helper.
