I have been using Collinite 845 Insulator Wax for a number of years with great success, so as my bottle is starting to get a little low I thought about putting another coat of wax on this fall for the winter months. After reading numerous positive reviews about Collinite 476s Super Double Coat paste wax I thought that I would give it a try, especially after seeing it referred to as "The Winter Wax". That was exactly what I was Looking for.

I placed my order with Detailed Image mid August and applied a coat of "476s" after Labor Day. Following the directions I applied it to a small section at a time while paying attention not to leave it on too long before buffing it off. Applying it in this manner I was super impressed with how easy it was to apply and remove for a paste wax, which I haven't used for years.

Even more impressive was the end result with a deep, lustrous glow on my dark red paint. The high gloss and exceptional beading is holding up well so far after numerous washings. A fantastic purchase from DI at a good price.

Makes the car look great. I like the small tin. I have small hands, so for me, it's easier to work with a small tin. My only complaint is that it leaves a little bit of chalky dust on my car when I try to remove the wax. It may be that I need to use more wax removal towels.

Tough wax! Once you get used to the application process it becomes very enjoyable to use especially if you are nostalgic and like applying wax from a tin. I have noticed a few things regarding this wax however I would like to share. It is a tad finicky on when it likes to be removed. If it is hot and humid outside the cure time is longer. That said one doesn't want it to be on the panel for too long or else it is a bear to remove as many have already stated in reviews. So, you need to play with it some. The last time you used it may be a different experience from the next. I typically let it sit on the panel for 2-3 minutes and that seems to work for me. One hiccup I did have though recently was a oily solvent residue on the panel 24 hours after application. After buffing off nothing was visible. The next afternoon it looked as if another coat of wax had been applied and left on. I freaked! But it just smudged off and was oily between the fingers, like the wax "sweat" overnight or something. First and only time that ever happened to me. My only thinking is due to the humidity outside at the time of application I may not have let it cure all the way. Just a guess though.

In regards to performance this wax resists bird bombs better than some coating systems I have used and the gloss is top-notch. Value is unbeatable as you use so little(less is more in this case) the tin will likely last many years in the hand of a DIY detailer. I have used the same can for two years and not even close to putting a meaningful dent in it. Additionally, my favorite wax to top it with is thier No. 915 wax which unfortunately isn't sold here but still available. Topping with 845 works just as well too.

First time I used the 476 Collinite, living in northeast and after reading reviews decided to give it a go. (I've used the 845 Collinite, it holds up well) So I put a coat of 476, (follow the instructions) otherwise you will get a good workout. Nice shine, hopefully it holds up, we'll see. To make the paint POP, I topped the 476 with 845, truck looks like glass. If it holds up, this will be my early spring and fall car waxes.

The Collinite 476s Double Coat. It stands up to its name on the can, even though its a little harder to rub off. Hint (make sure that its completely dry before wiping off) It seems to bead up more when wet which to me means better protection and that it will last longer. Do a smaller area at a time so it will be easier. It stands up to the salt air here in Jersey and that says something.. The finish results will be worth the little extra time you put in. Believe me!!!!

I use for winter wax in the Northeast US, not that hard to apply and remove if you follow the directions. Lasts a long time and looks great, will continue to use as my winter wax and areas that I don't want to wax regularly like rims, door jams etc..

I love this wax. It's what I recommend for most people since it's so durable and last so long. It's a hard wax and a little goes a long way as with most waxes. I remove it after I apply to a couple panels and haven't had problems buffing off. I put this on top of Chemical Guys EZ Creme Glaze for added depth.

Application is quite easy, much easier than their Marque D'Elegance wax. Finished the Range Rover a couple of weeks ago and it's beading well. The Lotus which has Starshield applied was done yesterday; first time waxing a car with Starshield. Looks great. If this wax lasts as long as they say, seems like a no brainer choice. Gloss is not as great Marque D'Elegance, but close enough.

Easy application that spreads nice and thin. As others have said it can become tough to remove if left on to long. Also very heavy dusting if this happens! Took lots of elbow grease to remove from hood which I did first. After adjust my technique the rest of the car went well. Seems to leave a very tough layer of protection. It's a good buy and will surely get dozens of waxing from the 9 ounce size. I like Collinites advertising philosophy...word of mouth! I gave a free bottle of 845 to my neighbor for his 1983 camper and he loves it! I'm very confident in their product line. Way to go Collonite!! High recommendation to all Collonite product. Quality + affordability = happy camper!

I used collinite pre wax cleaner and applied collinite 476s for the first time. It went on easy and used very little wax.

I have used many many waxes over the years, and at the advise of a coworker, I bought Collinite 845. I really liked it, but decided if 845 was good, 476 might be better...and it is!!! I would also suggest to do one panel at a time, since if left on to dry, it's very difficult to get off. Read up on the stuff for proper application, but it is definately one (if not the best) waxes I have ever used. I apply it by hand with a damp MF applicator, let it haze up, and buff it off (machine) with a microfiber bonnet over a lambswool pad, just for added cushioning. Again, I would recommend this to anyone (and I have!!). It's a great, long lasting product, and application isn't as bad as some say, if you don't let it dry on. PS: A second coat is a good idea, and as far as I know, you can top it with another wax. I have 2 coats of 476s and top it with 845!!

This is the third can of 476s that I've purchased - have used it yearly since 2004. Absolutely the best wax I've tried, lasts a full year, not difficult to apply (in some sequence of body panels), and rewarding in terms of the lasting beading and easy drying at auto washes.

This is the permanent wax. I suggest to apply a panel at a time, finger swipe test & and remove ASAP. If left on the surface to long it can become difficult to remove and I had to use a quick detailer to help with removal.

This stuff is fantastic for shine and lasting the whole winter! Beads like crazy. This wax is worth the time it takes to apply.
I have topped with Collinite 845 with no problems.

I have used Collinite for more than 35 years. There is no better wax, period. It gives amazing depth to paint, an appearance of looking down through the gloss. It lasts well, even here in New England. Make sure you do an area at a time (say, one fender) or you'll spend a lot of time getting it off! Amazing product for finicky car owners!
