Clay Magic Fine Grade Clay Bar Reviews
Professional Detailer Reviews
Throughout my career, both as a detail enthusiast as well as business operator, I've tried many clay bar types. Some were too aggressive for general use, some weren't aggressive enough to remove everyday contamination and some were simply junk! The one that always stood out and the one I kept using a good 80-90% of the time is the Clay Magic Fine Grade Clay Bar. This blue mild clay bar is aggressive enough to remove almost any contamination and it does it fairly quickly. It decontaminates paint without leaving much or any marring at all, so only a little and sometimes no polishing is required after using it. From minor overspray, to tar, to paint scuffs on the surface, this clay bar works really well to remove it with very little effort.

Great clay bar. I have used many different kinds of clay bars and this one is durable. Many others seem to allow your finger to poke through the clay with ease. Clay Magic is much more durable and holds up to tough surfaces. Does a great job removing tar, sap and artillery fungus spots. My favorite clay bar.
I would recommend yes, it does the job well. The only thing like a few people have stated, is that it's sort of hard to twist and squish to get a clean side of clay again.
But its not a huge deal breaker, the bar itself does work great.

Must have for any professional detailer. I very rarely need anything more aggressive than this for decon.
I dont have a career or am i professional. This little clay bar does the trick for me.
Nice, dependable product made with quality clay out of Japan that's easy to find and is reasonably priced.

Claybar works great. Used on a Sequoia that hasn't been washed (nevermind clayed) in 30k miles. Worked effortlessly.
P.S. my only complaint and it's not a deal breaker. It is not very malleable when cold. I used this clay on a 50 degree day and it was pretty painful to shape into a nice circle because it was so hard.

Great clay bar works as advertised. For heavily contaminated paint they have an aggressive version that works well also.
As a detailer, I have tried them all.
Clay Magic is the best one hands down!

I use Clay Magic on every car that I clay. It is the best clay bar in the business, and I have tried them all.
Fantastic clay bar, does an amazing job from fine up to vehicles that haven't been clayed in 60K miles or so.
This was my first time using a clay bar but I can tell you one bar this size will go a long way. I have a full size 4x4 truck and I only used 25% of the clay bar and would highly recommend it.
My personal favorite clay bar. I like it so much that I have been stocking up on them, have found you only need the fine not med grade.
I am thrilled DI carries this product. I use this clay on nearly every vehicle I detail and DI usually has it to me in 2 days. I've used many different clay bars and this is my favorite. It pulls up bonded contaminants with ease and if not, I go to the Red, more aggressive bar. I'm thankful that I also can count on DI to have it to me so quickly. This is my most oftenly purchased item from DI.
If you really want to make sure your paint surface is clean, this is the way to go. The new clay "pads" and "wash mitts" are faster, but not better. Actual clay removes all of the debris stuck to your paint where the rubber-like pads and mitts can gloss over some stains removing only the top portion. You can divide this 200 gram bar into four equal sections and use it for many, many cleanings.

Just got ambitious and did strip wash/tarX/clay/polish/sealant. Had clayed previously so wasn't expecting much.
Initial impression clay bar was super sticky. Got latex gloves and overcame the stickiness. Just could not believe the contamination this clay pulled off the car!
With latex gloves this will be my go to clay from now on.

Definitely the best clay product for the car detailing enthusiast. Worked on a difficult area that another well known clay product could not remedy. A bit pricey, but the bar can be subdivided and should last multiple jobs. If you're going to clay bar your vehicle, this is the one to use.
This is the first clay bar I've ever used. I've never detailed a car before (I hadn't owned a car since I was a boy in Wisconsin 14 years ago). The 2007 Mini Cooper S that I'd come to own had rough, dull-looking paint. It had never been detailed (waxed, clay bared, etc.) so this was a bit of an adventure! After washing, a treatment with Iron X, it was time for the clay bar. I couldn't believe how smooth the paint was after the clay bar treatment! I didn't know that cars could even feel so smooth! Great product - will certainly purchase again!
Great product. Holds together well and does a great job of gently removing contamination. As a novice, I use this on everything BUT my paint. Works wonders on glass, wheels, etc, where nothing else will.

I received this clay bar for Christmas and very disappointed in the quality. Upon opening the plastic wrap the bar was falling apart and the blue dye easily transfers to hands and clothing. I have used the medium grade bar for a number of mini details and was pleased with the results and clay durability. I tried the crumbling piece on my dd with Dodo Juice Tropical Mist QD and glad I did not try on my summer toy.
Best clay bar hands down, made my paint finish feel like glass.
This is the best clay bar I have used it removes above surface contaminates greatly, leaving you with a smooth glassy finish. Other clays don't hold up as well in the fine grade as Clay Magic Fine Grade. Use Chemical Guys Synthetic Quick Detailer diluted 1:2 for a great lubricant.
Great clay bar. Remove contaminants quickly. I use ONR at QD ratio as lube.
Works great. I used the Dodo juice lube.
Never had a clay to compare it to, but I liked the case it comes in, and at 200g, you get many pieces out of the block.
Worked great. I was always afraid of damaging the paint with clay. No worries. I used Dodo Juice Born Slippery clay lubricant.

If you are serious about detailing, this is the first item you should buy. This clay is perfect for the first time user when applied properly with a good lube like Poorboys. It removes the contaminents on the paint and leaves it smooth as silk. Finish it off with a good sealant and wax and your car will be protected for many months. Comes in a nice box to keep the extra clay free from dust.
My paint was in decent condition to begin with, but this stuff made it feel like new again. I only used a little bit for my car and stored the rest. This should last quite a while. However, I am not sure I would use this on an older car, you may need to use the medium grade.
I am very satisfied with this purchase. Compared directly to Pinnacle clay this bar blows it away in ease of use but does provide similar results. This clay was easier to mold into smaller pieces and proved to pick up more material then the Pinnacle clay. I would recommend this for any vehicle that is already being clayed on a regular basis. Or if you're preparing for your first clay bar detail. Otherwise use the medium clay for heavy work or for experienced detailers who are looking for a bit more particle removal.

I done overspray removal for a living for 2 years. NOTHING is better than clay magic bars. Although for the average dummy, it can easily be fouled up and greatly hurt your clear/paint. Except no substitutes!

Works like a champ! I had some kind of rough feeling substance on my paint that would not wash off no matter how hard I tried. The clay bar took it off in minutes.
You will not be disappointed with this!

These guys make most of the other clays out there, they are the "inventors" of the process. I love this as my go to clay.

I used the Clay Magic during my full detail last week. My car is only two months old so I cannot really tell if it did that much good. Easy to use. I tore off about 15 equal pieces and used Meg's QD as a lube since I already had some. After I clayed, I used Klasse AIO, then Jet Seal 109. Looks great!
