Chemical Guys Cyclone Dirt Trap Bucket Insert Reviews
Customer Reviews
Seems like a great concept, except, the insert will not seat properly on the bottom of the bucket. Inserted in several different buckets and it fits at an angle and just does not sit flat and even. Use a double bucket method and save your $$$. Or, buy a different brand.
Doesn't fit any of my 5-gallon buckets. In need of a major re-design.
It fits my DI 3-1/2 gallon bucket fine too tight to the left out though. I had to thread fishing line through the holes in order to make a handle.
We are a high volume detail shop, and were using just the standard grit guards. When I added these to our wash buckets underneath the grit guards, it made a huge difference. More dirt gets trapped below and the water stays cleaner, longer. I still think the standard grit guards are a necessity but these make for an excellent combination.
Great product! Using it with a grit guard for extra protection. Easier to rub the wash mitt across the surface to loosen the grit particles.
Didn't fit in my bucket. Both this grit guard and my other one don't fit properly in my bucket.
I use both the Cyclone dirt trap insert with the Grit Guard insert, in the same bucket. Does a great job!

Would they buy this item again? Yes
I would never buy this product over my grit guard. My grit guard fits into all of my 5 gallon buckets including the ones I bought from home depot, lowes, autozone, and advanced auto. The cyclone only fit the lowes and home depot. They fit but they have to be almost forced into the others.
Also, I see no dirt ever sitting beneath the cyclone whereas I do see a lot of dirt sitting below the grit guard.
The science behind the cyclone is genius however, I feel the dirt never ever finds its way under those small holes. By the time I dip my wash medium back in the dirt has not settled yet and ends back on my wash mitt. Also I feel rubbing the wash mitt on the grit guard over the cyclone is superior. I don't feel the rub needed to displace the debris off of my mitt.
All in all, I feel as a detailer this is a waste of money. Buy the grit guard off of this site instead.

The product is nice. It's good quality, made in USA!! and works well.
Great!
Coming from a regular grit guard, this one is a slightly different design. In usage, I don't really see any difference. Both work similarly. One gripe is that the grit guard gets stuck on the bottom of the bucket and is hard to remove. I remedied this by using zip ties so I had a "handle" to pull the grit guard out.
Good idea and works great. Made from a softer plastic and is hard to remove from bucket when wedged down in the bucket (nowhere to grab).
Pros: Great idea and design
Holds small dirt debris at the bottom of the bucket well
Cons: Soft plastic material bends and makes it difficult to remove from
several different types of 5 gal buckets I use.
Large debris don't have the room to flow to the bottom of the bucket

Great Product. The best thing about it is that it fits in a 5 gallon bucket. I do not want any grime on my rags when I am pushing them across my paint.
I bought one today. Sounds like a "MUST HAVE" for me.........more to follow up....
