Chemical Guys Clean Slate Surface Cleaner Wash Reviews
Customer Reviews
I used this on an older car that was in desperate need of paint correction, and it probably didn't have much of any previous products still on the paint. But I did notice that it seemed to get a lot of the sap, bird poop, and other elements off really easily. A little goes a long way, but I did use a bit more than the instructions stated just to be safe, and it worked really nicely. I didn't foam it up much, but it has nice lubricity, and period the paint nicely for the clay, polish, and wax. Definitely recommend.

Bought this product many years ago to strip off a sealant to do an after winter detail which would involve washing, claying, light polishing and resealing. After washing my car with Clean Slate, the beading was gone, I assumed the sealant had been stripped by it. It was getting dark, so I called it a night to pick up the next morning. Next morning, some dust had settled on the paint so I used some Meguiars Hyperwash to clean up before claying the paint. While rinsing the Hyperwash off, the water beaded on the paint just like it had done before Clean Slate. At this point I was really confused. So I put off the claying till I could figure out what was going on. Washed the car again with Clean Slate. Beading gone again. Decided to rewash but this time with 3D Pink Soap. While rinsing, the beading returned. The only thing I can figure is Clean Slate wasn't stripping, it was only leaving something on the surface that would suppress beading.
I emailed Chemical Guys and never got a response back. On their website, I left a negative review of the Clean Slate which site administration deleted hours later. I later found out from others on detailing boards that Chemical Guys routinely deletes anything but positive reviews of their products on their site, nice. After that, I tossed the bottle in the trash and now use a mix of APC and car wash shampoo to strip paint and haven't bought a Chemical Guys product since.

This is a terrific surface prep soap if you plan on doing a full decon prior to applying a wax or coating. I was pleasantly surprised with how well it foams and it smells really good. It did a great job or stripping off what it could prior to a full decon and I would definitely recommend using it.
I use this product to prep for ceramic coatings to make sure i've cleaned off all the old residue. Works great.

One of the best prep soaps on the market! A little goes a long way with foam cannons or 2 bucket system. Just dry after and apply wax for great results.
I used to use dish soap before I started a full detail. I saw this stuff and figured I'd give it a shot. Boy! I'm glad I did! Dish soap doesn't come close to the stripping power this stuff has. There was always beading left behind after dish soap. Not with this stuff...I never thought it would make as big of a difference as it does.
Wish all wash soap held suds this long. I would recommend using more than the suggested 1 oz. per 5 gallons to really get all the wax and/or sealant off.
