Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss Reviews
Customer Reviews
I bought this soap for re-selling and my clients love it!
The only soap I use.
Cleaned up deep grime off of a customer's white civic si very well! I love the smell, how concentrated it is, and how much of a gloss it left before I even applied a sealant. A+ job on this one Chemical Guys! Will buy again.
Absolutely the best car wash I've ever used! I was told even though this is not PH balanced, it's still a relatively mild shampoo and the lubricity and shine afterwards is 2nd to none.
I've used the melon and mr.pink and so far this will be my goto shampoo. It does seem to add some protection because my truck still looks clean after 1.5 weeks. The soap itself is very slick and my mitt glides right over my paint. A again from chemical guys!

This is a soap I use for pretty trashed vehicles, and its the soap I use and add to my wheel bucket to help cut the grime. Works well and leaves a great shine.
CG produced another decent product with this soap. It's supposed to be a bit stronger than your regular wash soap, which gives it versatility in the sense that it can be diluted down for a weekly wash regimen or concentrated to strip off layers of wax and sealant to start fresh. I didn't notice any crazy cleaning power with this soap, but it did what I needed it to do -- remove the standard daily-driving contaminates from my paint. I'm skeptical about just how much to use to clean off dirt versus strip off wax, so I'll just use it when I'm ready to seal/wax again.
BOTTOM LINE: CG produced a quality soap that gets the job done and has a cool yellow color, but I won't use it as part of my weekly washing regimen.

I have not worked with this product long enough to write a reliable review. That said, I am impressed with its versatility. I really like that you can adjust the concentration levels according to your specific goals. I used a high concentration in preparation for a complete restoration of the finish on my oldest vehicle. It seems to have served the purpose as well as an IPA stripping (which I'll do anyway) leaving the car incredibly clean and glossy. It even worked better than the wheel cleaners I've used to clean caked-on brake dust. I've used it in a very low concentration mixed with another high quality car shampoo in order to increase the suds from the foam gun and bucket. I was trying to avoid too much stripping of the sealants and polishes I've used to build-up its wet-look. It left the car really clean and glossy without affecting its wet-look. I'll probably continue to use it in this manner.
Great product. Left the car very shiny, with litttle streaks if I missed a spot to dry . I watched the video on proper washing techniques. Traditionaly I always use soap first then water. I used chemical guys method which is water first then the soap. For my application ,my bucket is about 3 gallons. I had to use about 2 -3 ozs of soap to get a good amount of suds. They were claiming about 1. I had very little suds after that method.
Did a great job on our vehicles. I have a black pickup truck and it left a great, spot free shine.
I like it! Foams up great and washes off easy. Leaves a great shiny finish.
I've used this along with many other Chemical Guys detergents and this is definitely the heavy hitter in my arsenal. Great lubrication, Foaming ability and Capable of stripping old waxes and polishes ensuring a much better surface to work with. I use this in my Foam Gun along with an ounce in my Two bucket wash. Great Product!!!
great product. Car looks awesome after washing.
This stuff is a great tool for your arsenal. It is the only product I use to strip off all products before doing a full detail. It even does a good job at clearing off water spots too. This stuff works great removing all sealants, wax and giving you a clean slate to start with.
Love this stuff! Leaves a perfect shine behind but be careful with your concentration. Very easily takes off sealant/wax if you over do it. A little goes a LONG way.
This is really great stuff for when you are about to detail your car. I use 4 table spoons (2oz) into a 5gal bucket that's half full to strip off all old coatings before applying new wax or sealant. This stuff really works great, leaves a super clean shine. takes off light acid rain and water stains in the process too. I wouldn't use it for every day washes though as i would be afraid it would take off applied protectants.
Product works great on my black camaro, ordered 2 more bottles
I have tried most of them and there is none better thank chemical guys citrus wash and gloss.
Superior product! Love it Strange looking with clouds of something suspended in the water, like a colloid. Works just as described. Excellent packaging and communication, too.
I just used this as a maintenance wash yesterday. It had a great smell to it, foamed up like crazy and the suds really lasted. Even an hour after my wash was done the bucket was still foaming. The lubricity was amazing, as well as the cleaning power. I'm excited to see how well it strips wax. Next time I might just use half a cap full with only about 2 gallons of water.
I'm being very critical on this product because I find that it does have a decent cut on tar and bugs (even at 1 cap to 4 gallons) and it does leave a nice gloss when I'm done, but the windows show a film every time. Compared to the normal citrus wash, this wash and gloss leaves me disappointed. The main reason for the disappointment is that normal citrus wash is far more versatile since I can use it to clean my wool wash mitts after using other products like ONR. The wash and gloss prevents that tool maintenance ability because of the gloss substance. If I want foam, I'd rather use CG Honeydew Snow foam or even Mr. Pink. Also, this wash and gloss product does settle and has a lot of separation which needs a lot of vigorous shaking prior to use. Normal citrus wash doesn't have this need, and I can only imagine how difficult wash and gloss would be to shake for owners of the 1 gallon size. In essence, this product is not the best in my arsenal, and that's a little harsh, but the fact remains that I rarely reach for this when I do a 2 bucket wash method on my cars that have been driven through rain for a week.

I like this soap, it is super concentrated and will go a long way, it smells great, and is very slick. The only problem with it that I had, was that at stripping concentration, it didn't remove the Reload sealant off of my car.
Great suds in FoamMaster and wash bucket. Only complaint is that it came all caked up in the nozzle; had to get a toothpick to open it up. It also tends to separate and can be kinda tough to shake back up because it's so thick. Still a great wash though!
Lots of suds, small bottle will get you many, many uses. Will buy again once I run out.
Very good versatile soap, one capful for maintenance wash, and can use more if you want to use it to strip old wax and sealant off for prep. Lots of lubricicity and suds.

The versatility of this soap is what makes this soap stand out. All that's needed is to change the dilution ratio to go from an great maintenance wash that adds a great level of gloss to the paint, to a wash and clear ratio that is perfect for stripping of prior layers of old protection. Also, this soap provides a ton of suds while working at any dilution ratio.
This stuff is great, very sudsy, smells great and at the right dilution will strip off sealant and wax very easily. Only con is you have shake it up a lot to use as it tends to separate (clear liquid bottom) when sitting. But like all Chemical Guys products works as exactly described.
Great wash. Very sudsy and slick. It also made it very easy to remove the old wax and sealant from my paint when I followed the directions. I think I have found the perfect shampoo for the price.
Great shampoo. Amazing suds. Extremely Slippery. CG for the win.
Great all purpose shampoo. Use for quick wash, with a foam cannon or as a paint cleanser. Does an excellent job in all respects. Suds like crazy and feels slick during use. It's so concentrated, I don't see my gallon jug running out until 2024.
Wow, this is super sudzy! Love it with my foam cannon!
This is really good stuff! Suds galore! I use it in my gilmour and it's a wonderful thing. The concentration level is unreal. You need so little to do so much. If i don't reach for this soap, I reach for the honeydew. Both amazing soaps that you can't go wrong with.
I've used this on my new Camaro. Smells great, and suds up well in my bucket, and with my Gilmore foam gun. I actually laugh when I add just a few drops before filling with water--it's amazing so little soap can create so much suds! I've used for four months, and car continues to look great! Will buy again if this bottle ever runs out...
Works&Smells good, especially with Foam gun, this can create endless suds with thick foams.highly recommended!!
I was using Mothers California Gold before I switched to this soap. I love the lubricity this soap provides on the cars surface and the excellent finish. The water in my area is pretty hard and tends to spot easily, this soap has really help cut down on that effect.
I used this at full strength this morning to strip the previous protection off my vehicle in preparation for a full detail. It smells great, has tremendous lubricity, and excellent suds even an hour after filling the wash bucked. My mitts felts great on the paint and the paint felt perfectly clean after. It's easily rinsed off too! Great product, thanks CG!
Great car wash!, adds tons of gloss after each wash. Very Slick and rinses easily.
Really impressed with this one. Very concentrated. Very sudsy. Leaves a nice pop on the shine.
Great Product, very concentrated. even compared to "Maxi Suds", which I normally use. Like using this to strip the old selant/wax before polish and sealant/wax.Great stuff.
another great shampoo, switched to this over from daily wash and clear when i want to amp up the gloss with my maintenance washes.
Lubrication and suds are amazing!!!
this is the best car soap ive used so far. before i was using meguair's gold class and that worked pretty good but when i switched to this all i can say is the difference is totally noticeable. my car is left with a shine already after washing which looks great.
definitely follow the directions on the bottle because this thing will strip your wax if not used properly.

Best car soap I've ever used little goes a long ways !!! leaves a shine
only used once on my car so far, and my car is in awful shape and it still created a very nice pop with the amount of gloss it created
Awesome stuff, especially considering the price! I've decided this is my Go-To maintenance shampoo for non-winter washes. Definitely adds some nice gloss and extends the life of your LSP without a doubt. Only need 2 cap-fulls for 4 gallons of wash so it will last a long time.
Make sure you shake it up before dispensing! And keep it out of the sun!

This is my favorite "go to" wash/shampoo product and can be used for both maintenance washes and full detail prep-strip washes depending on dilution. I use this product in the two-bucket method and also in my pressure washer/foam-cannon with great results.
Mega suds and the cars do seem to shine more. Must be the 'gloss' huh? For the price you can't beat it. A little goes a LOOOOOONG way. This is my go-to soap.
Simply awesome! A little goes a LONG way. This will now be my new wash. Replacing the Gold Class in my garage as I type.
Great stuff highly concentrated can use to strip or dilute to clean gently , doesn't shine/gloss as well as ONR IMO, so the CG Gloss would be a better choice for that result. Must shake prior to use..16oz should last a very long time for good value for sure.
Followed the directions and used 1 cap full in 4 gallons of water, and it worked beautifully. Produced enough suds and lubricity to gently wash the car. I like the idea that it can be used to clean deeper and remove wax by increasing the amount of soap and/or decreasing the amount of water - which is perhaps true of most car shampoos, but because a little bit goes a long way with great results, using the product is an easy choice. I'm hooked.
Like this more than the citrus wash seams more concentrated so just a little is needed. It did not work as well in a foam gun as the citrus wash did.
This stuff works awesome. I dilute it with one cap of shampoo and 3 gallons of water and I still get good suds and awesome cleaning power. When I finish washing and dry the car it has amazing reflections and thats with only washing it. I highly recommend this to anyone.
Excellent product. I initially bought it and used it as a wax stripper (in a high concentration); worked wonders.
I have since used it as a regular car wash soap(in a low concentration); produces great suds, slipperiness, and cleansing action. Car actually 'looks' cleaner, and perhaps a little 'glossier', after washing.
Recommended.

Excellent Wash Soap!!! A must in your Detailing Arsenal!
great soap ...strips lsp excellent ...will always keep a bottle on hand from now on
Used as directed on bottle, 1 capful to 4 to 5 gallons of water. Wow, tons of suds, I even added a couple of more gallons to my bucket and still had suds left. Cleaned very well and seemed to leave a little extra gloss behind.
Everyone raves about it, now I understand why. It blows other soaps out of the water! I couldn't believe how much sudsing there was, even compared to "Maxi Suds", which I normally use. Granted, I was using it in its most concentrated form as paint cleaner, but it was still beyond my expectations.
Like using this to strip the car/truck before polish and wax. Have never used it just as a soap for weekly cleanings. Does not leave any residue so perfect for whatever your next step may be in polishing.

Excellent deal for the amount of washes you get with this. Super sudsy and my car does have an increase in gloss after using.
The product does separate when sitting for a while, so be sure to buy a 8-12oz dispenser bottle to make it easier to shake / mix before use.

This stuff is awesome, Add 2 oz per 2 gallons and it will work great for stripping old wax, mix 1/2 oz and it will shine the heck out of your car without taking off wax. It has extremely good lubricity while taking of all of the bug guts from a 700+ mile road trip. Forget Wolfgang Gloss shampoo this stuff is better at half the price!
The best car soap I've used so far. "A little goes a long way" very true I use 1 oz per 4 gallons of water and I still have plenty of suds left. Extremly slik and great smell. Extremely satisfied with this soap.
Great soap...plenty of viscosity and the suds it produces are mind blowing. When used with a foam gun, this soap removes the toughest of contaminants and blows the customer away to see the car that clean after just a wash.
Great Product, very concentrated. Used to use 4 ounces of Meguiars in my foam gun. I only use 2 ounces of this. Awesome bang for your buck.
Lots of suds and great lubricity too, very small portion goes a long way
Great soap .awesome sudisng for foam cannon pre-soaks. Great cleaning ability and can be used at higher concentrations to strip lsp's before polishing

Good stuff. When used in high concentration it strips some of the toughest debris. Great for using just before a polish and wax job.
Citrus Wash and Gloss is an amazing product! It leaves the finish sqeaky clean at a 2 oz per gallon ratio, and is an amazing everyday cleaner that doesn't harm wax at 1 oz per gallon. This stuff was able to clean some pretty bad gunk, without agitation, that WD40 and Goof-off couldn't get rid of! My recommendation is to buy the smaller bottle, I bought the large 128 oz one and I probably will finish it in about 3 years.
Love this soap Super strong cleaning power and a nice shine when done. Received comments on car and only the soap was changed in how i clean. Will be buying a gallon next time
Great formula, easy to dilute down to desired level of cleaning, extra foam at any dilution level and provides a very clean result every time. This is the only wash I'll be purchasing from now on. It easily surpasses Megs, ONR, and all OTC shampoos.

This is my go to soap. I can put it in a foam/cannon/gun or in a bucket. Some serious lubes and bubbles. The cost break down is very nice, way cheaper than all OTC soaps and way nicer. I like the ability to change up concentrations; simple wash to a removal of polishing oils or wax removal.
