Wheel & Tire Cleaning

It always starts with proper prep so we’re going to give the wheels and tires a thorough cleaning.

I started with P&S Brake Buster in a IK Foam 1.5 Sprayer for the cleaning. After giving it a good foaming, I scrubbed the tire with the Tuf Shine Tire Brush. For the wheels I used the DI Brushes Pro Series Wheel Brush and Detail Factory Wheel Brush.

To dry the wheels and tires I used the Blo Car Dryer AIR GT to get into all the nooks and crannies. Some great features I love about the Blo Car Dryer AIR GT that it has warm filtered air and a 26 ft hose.

For the last prep step, I used CarPro Eraser to give it a final wipe down before applying the wheel coating.

Onto the Aquatek Profile application.

Aquatek Profile Wheel & Metal Coating Installation Instructions

• Make sure the wheel surface is properly cleaned before using.
• Prep wipe is recommended prior to applying Profile to wheels and metal surfaces.

• Make sure to wear rubber gloves to avoid contact with skin.
• Apply Profile onto a coating applicator. Then apply to the surface.
• Allow to flash for approximately 30 seconds on the surface.
• Immediately buff until clear with a clean microfiber towel.
• Scan and address any areas not properly leveled before the coating gets hard.

After applying Profile it is recommended to use Aquatek Bliss immediately after to give additional slickness and hydrophobic properties.

Aquatek Bliss Installation Instructions

• Recommended for use immediately after applying a coating.
• Allow to “bleed’ into the coating for best results. Provides additional gloss, hydrophobic effect and slickness to the coating being applied.
• Using as a “stand-alone” product is not recommended as the durability is relied on by the coating being applied.

• Make sure to wear rubber gloves to avoid contact with skin
• Apply 3 pea sized drops onto a coating applicator. Then apply to the surface.
• Work a small section at a time.
• Immediately buff until clear with a clean microfiber towel.

I did finish the tires with Tuf Shine Tire Clearcoat to wrap up this wheel and tire detail.

Final Thoughts

Aquatek Profile and Bliss were super easy to apply. Profile has a 30-second flash time, you can’t ask much more for a coating application. Durability for Profile states up to 2 years and Bliss is 6 months. Ease of application is definitely a win and we’ll see how it performs on the daily driver throughout the next two years.
