Unboxing: Rupes iBrid Nano
by Zach McGovernI order a lot of detailing products, so it is not often that I get excited about a box showing up at my door…
… but when that box contains another box that is wrapped with this tape, it is hard not to be excited about what is inside.
The Rupes iBrid Nano L-DLX Kit has arrived.
Rupes has been bringing innovative tools to the detailing world for years now, and the Rupes iBrid has been surrounded by a lot of hype since it was first seen at the SEMA show, so naturally I have been interested to get my hands on it. This tool was designed to provide a solution for those small, hard to reach areas that you cannot safely reach with larger machines. The iBrid features a slim, compact body and backing plates with a diameter as small as 34 mm, allowing you to polish areas that you’ve never been able to polish before with larger machines. This tool is only available as part of a kit, which is neatly bundled in this very nice case.
Inside the case is an impressive assortment of items that are organized in a custom fitted foam wrapper that makes you feel like you are opening up a gadget that has been crafted for a secret agent.
The main compartment contains all of the tools, polishing liquids, pads, batteries, chargers, adapters, brushes, sanding discs, etc, and the sleeve holds the included manuals and microfiber cloths.
Here is a full list of supplies included in this kit:

The center piece of the kit is of course, the iBrid Nano Polisher. While it may look like an oversized electric toothbrush, I am hopeful that this tool will help us deliver even better results to our customers by allowing us to reach areas that were previously out of the range of our other machines.
At first glance, the tool feels nice in the hand. It is made of a combination of plastic and metal components which make it lightweight, but sturdy feeling. The trigger is easy to control, and the speed dial is nice and smooth.
I am really looking forward to spending some time operating this machine. I can think of countless uses for this small tool, especially with the freedom of being cordless, so I am hoping that it lives up to the hype that has been generated since it was first revealed. The kit is an impressive display of detailing goodies, but the high end fit and finish of the packaging is only a small part of what I hope this package will deliver. I plan to spend many months getting to know this machine, and will follow up with an in depth review with my experiences at a later date.
Mine should be arriving this Week! I can’t wait to try it out.
Nice!
It’s a very good tool so far. I don’t like the blue foam pads due to polish sling (same problem with the 3, 6, and 7 inch pads) also the pads don’t last very long. I’m testing out the new LC 2 inch microfiber pads to replace the blue pads for heavy cutting. CarPro has a set of 6 2 inch pads that includes 2 microfibers and 2 Gloss Pads (my favorite) that should complement the Nano. I look forward to your full review.
I will agree – I have never been a fan of the blue foam pads since I first tried them out in the larger sizes. This tool will hopefully push more pad options for smaller sizes.
2 more full details and this will be mine. Lol
