This week I had a chance to experience Kern’s ability as a professional detailer.  Kern’s dedication to quality is second to none and he is a true artist with skills that can match those found anywhere in the world.  I travel the globe working with professionals and Kern is as good as they get!

Kern Belfon is a driven business owner and passionate detailer receiving international recognition for his detailing.  I have followed him on his detailing business journey lately.  I recently asked Kern Belfon to narrate his story below.  Hope you enjoy the story of Kern Belfon and (B.A.D.) Belfon Aesthetic Detailing.

The young, energetic but humble Kern Belfon leads Belfon Aesthetic Detailing better known as B.A.D. Mr. Belfon has always had a positive outlook on life, even as a child, which has helped him on his journey to becoming a renowned Auto Detailer in Trinidad and Tobago with International Accreditation. As a child, Kern spent time cleaning and polishing his mother’s vehicle-what is referred to in the industry as “Detailing”.  He later expanded to washing his neighbors’ vehicles, creating a business for himself in the process.  Kern was booed by his peers that washing vehicles wasn’t much of a career but he knew that between his passion for vehicles and his strong business acumen he could and would turn his part-time venture into a full-time successful business.  This evolved into what we know today as Belfon’s Aesthetic Detailing (B.A.D.).

In 2011, Kern established the B.A.D. brand but has been working in the detailing industry for over 23 years.  During this time, he has gained experience as a contractor with one of Trinidad and Tobago’s leading Automotive companies and obtained certifications from around the world.  In 2015 Kern flew to the Netherlands to be trained at Detail Today Group with Roel Reijers to become the first IGL (I Green Lover) accredited Detailer in the Caribbean.  His persistence became his passion, and his passion became a successful business.

A big dream became a reality in October 2019, when after a seven year wait, Kern was accepted to an Advanced five-day Detailing workshop at his good friend Fareed Mosadaee of Auto Clinique’s in Trinidad and Tobago with world renowned and sought after master detailers Renny and Diane Doyle of Detailing Success Located in California USA, the official detailers for Airforce One.  Master detailers Renny and Diane Doyle have more than 30 of years experience and trained over 500 detailers from around the world.  They have also created an elite team of detailers who have been restoring, maintaining, and preserving the United States President’s official airplane Air Force One for more than 15 years.

The recent workshop with Detailing Success has given Kern new perspectives, techniques, confidence, and extra drive when it comes to automotive detailing.  This training has awarded him the title of IDA Certified Detailer (International Detailing Association) Skill Validated (IDA CD-SV).  Behind every successful man, there is a strong woman, in this case, it’s my sister Lynesha Timothy who has always been in my corner motivating and supporting me through the good times and bad.  My advice to any up-and-coming detailer is to have patience, nothing doesn’t happen before time.
