Product Review: 22ple HPC (High-Performance Coating)
by Ivan RajicYet another great product from 22ple with which we got to play with before it hit the shelves. Unfortunately I don’t have any photos at this time, but hope to add some very soon. I could probably get away with simply typing “great product, definitely buy it” and sign off on the article. However, that wouldn’t be fair to the readers, so I’ll try to elaborate a bit more :). For those new to 22ple coatings, my recent review of their VX3 coating may be a good read as well.
As with all the 22ple products, HPC is extremely easy to use. Simply apply to a section of paint for about 3 minutes and then remove with a clean microfiber towel. Do this a few times and you will have coated the entire car in no time. As with the VX3 coating, the time between application and removal is very consistent and doesn’t change much when temperatures get too high or too low. From my experience it worked great when removed after 3-4 minutes, but I did only use it between 70-75 degrees. Even if you let it sit on the paint for too long, re-applying the product and quickly wiping off removes any sticky residue.
Once applied to the entire car, you have the choice to apply more coats after 12 hours or simply wait to hours finish it off with the VS1 Final Coat. Even without the VS1 application, the HPC produces a very glossy surface even on perfectly prepped and polished paint. The beading and cleaning characteristics are some of the best I’ve seen and make drying a car a breeze. I’ve only been able to test the durability for a few months now, but after about 3 months it looks like it did after the first day. The beading is typical off 22ple and I’m eager to see how long it will last. Considering I’ve seen well over 1.5 years with other 22ple coatings before we polished and re-coated the vehicle, I have no doubt I’ll see well over 2 years with just one coat of HPC.
Overall I’m very pleased with the 22ple HPC, but then again I expected nothing less. It’s a great product that’s VERY easy to apply and performs on par with pro-only coatings.

So can someone explain where this fits in the every expanding lineup of 22ple products? Right now they have a lot of coatings and it isn’t always clear how the products compare and where they all fit in their lineup.
Thanks!
I am currently working on an article which will feature an in depth discussion with the creator of 22ple to shed some more light on each of the paint coating products and to answer some questions about each of them.
A quick run down…. Durability increases with price from VX3 to HPC to PRO2. VX3 is the best “bang for your buck” and focuses on excellent performance at a very reasonable price. HPC is geared towards improved durability, ease of use, and water repellent properties. PRO2 will be the most durable and most chemical resistant coating of the 3. It is a little harder to use in that the product requires longer time to flash and sometimes needs to be wiped a little more during removal, but still very easy relative to many other products on the market (I also have a pending review & application article for PRO2 that has yet to be published).
Hope that helps.
Do you guys know if this is also made in Japan like CQuartz?
Each and every one of 22PLE products are developed in-house and made only in Japan. Unlike others, all our coating and maintenance products are developed together under the same roof to ensure that the system will compliment each other, something that you are unable to simply by sourcing products from different manufacturers and often time from different countries with a very different chemical base.

How do you guys recommend storing the bottles after use?
Trying to keep product from drying out between uses.
Brent I try to keep the original caps that completely close the bottle and put that back in between uses. We do use up a bottle within weeks usually, so it’s not a problem too often. Otherwise you should try to wipe down the neck and threads of the actual bottle and rinse out then dry the screw on cap. This will keep as much product from drying out and getting onto the applicator next time it’s used.
Great! Thank you!
Do you see any clear benefits between HPC and 22ple VX3? HPC states it has 3-4 years rather than just 2 years but Im trying to determine which would be the better buy as HPC is a little more expensive.
I haven’t tested HPC long enough to say if there are any clear benefits, but I would imagine the durability is the main characteristic.
What’s the full curing time after the product is applied?
I believe it’s 24 hours before you can expose it to the elements.
Did you do one coat or 2 coats of the hpc ?
I normally do only one coat, but you can do multiple 12 hours apart.
Is 22ple safe for paint protection film? specifically Xpel Ultimate.
Yes it shouldn’t be a problem at all JP.
