Take a look at the interview below with Mike Bibbo of Driveway Shield. Mike covers some of his background and answers some questions about the TireBib and how it came about!

1. Can you tell us a little about your background?

I grew up in Guilderland, NY and I am married with two children. I have always loved everything about cars! I love to find that rare car model that still looks good 20 years later and then detailing it to make it look brand new!

2. TireBib is a very cool concept and I love how it solves a huge problem for detailers. Where did the idea come from?

My wife and I were doing a lot of walking during Covid, and I would always see these four stains on the streets in the neighborhood. I knew exactly what they were because I had been creating the same marks on the street for years. I had been pulling my car into the street to detail it in order to avoid staining my driveway and garage floor. My wheels started turning…I was determined to create a solution to this problem.

3. How many different versions did you test?

Hundreds. It took a while to find the right size, material, fit and look!

4. What have been some of the biggest hurdles coming up with this item?

I had to tap into the mindset of people who love cars and detailing them, like I do, and people who may be less experienced, but need the product just as much. The most important aspects of product development were to ensure that the product worked efficiently, with ease of use and storage.

5. What size tires does this work with?

Tires are all about the “Contact Patch” meaning the portion of the tire that is in direct contact with the surface of the road. When developing TIREBIB we tried our best for a universal fit. Starting with small car up to a bigger truck.

6. Do you have any other items in the works?

We are in the process of developing a whole line of Bibs and we have received some great feedback!
