How the FLEX PXE 80’s Rotary Abilities Compliment a Full-Size Rotary Machine

by

For many detailers, a DA is simply a beautiful thing. But if you’re an experienced rotary user, you likely love the preciseness that a rotary offers beyond a DA/RO machine. If you’re tied to your plug-in rotary, this video is not about replacing your fanny-kicking swirl-demolishing rotary with a cordless, battery-powered, and tiny form factor machine. This is all about how the FLEX PXE 80 compliments your plug-in rotary. After all, if you can improve your efficiency and make correction projects that much safer, why wouldn’t you??

But like everything in life, there are also some limitations to the FLEX PXE 80. In the following video, I will share my nuanced feedback as to what makes this machine a must-have for the seasoned rotary user as well as some of the limitations you may face.

I look forward to your feedback and hope you enjoy the video.

Flex PXE 80 is an awesome machine.

  2. Vincent says:

Its even better with the 6.0 battery with more power.

  3. Eric Osipov says:

So I’m assuming you modified the 3 inch backing plate to use it in rotary mode?

  4. Benjamin Naunczek says:

I don’t see how he could do anything in so little light. I keep my garage lit like a surgical suite. Is there some advantage to removing scratches in dim lighting? That’s probably why he seems to be feeling around for the car in the beginning. Lol No, really, some before and afters would be wonderful!!!

    • Hi Benjamin,

There are a few reasons it appears that the lighting is super low. The camera I shot the video on has excellent dynamic range and I keyed my lighting to be just on my body and the panel I was working. While you can’t see it from the camera’s vantage, I have a strong beam of studio quality lighting right where I am working the paint.

I hope this helps explain what you’re seeing.
