Gtechniq NASCAR Detail

by

I was extremely excited to have a chance to detail this amazing Gtechniq NASCAR Ford Mustang, the Joe Graf JR. 07! This car was extremely clean to begin with, so not much cleaning and decontamination was needed. To start, I reached for a collection of Gtechniq items. I mean, it is only right that I used the brand that sponsors this vehicle!

In the beginning I took care of a nice maintenance wash, including a cleaning of the wheels and tires.

After drying off the vehicle, I picked up my Rupes BigFoot MarkIII 21mm and a Meguiar’s Microfiber Disc. With the Rupes DA Fine Polishing Compound, light imperfections, swirls, and oxidation were removed, leaving behind a nice finish.

Gtechniq NASCAR Polish

I love the Rag Company Eagle Edgeless Towels, but for polish and excess coating removal I reach for the Pearl Coating Towels. These towels have a shorter nap, so they do not bunch up during use, allowing for a much easier removal process.

Just spray the Panel Wipe onto the surface and wipe with the Pearl Edgeless Towel. It may take a few wipes or applications, but the Panel Wipe will remove excess oils on the surface, prepping it for a coating application.

Speaking of coatings, we applied one of my favorite and one of our most popular coating combinations, the Crystal Serum Light and EXO. Top it with the C2 Ceramic Sealant and you will have a finished surface that is not only protected for years, but looks incredibly glossy and is bound to turn heads. For some detailed application information on these coatings, check out the below Ask-a-Pro posts!

As you can see, the finished results are amazing and the paint is extremely glossy!

Gtechniq Finish

No, it is not April 1st and yes, this is an officially licensed NASCAR 1:64 scale diecast stock car! While I might not have performed all of the above steps on this sweet little collectable, I actually did apply a layer of EXO to the surface, so it is protected by Gtechniq! The other steps listed above are some of my favorite detailing products within my detailing collection and highly recommended for the steps they were listed in as well. Take a look at the diecast car below and if you want to win yourself one of these, leave a comment and we will be giving a handful away to some lucky readers!
