We had the pleasure of working directly with Gtechniq to put together some helpful detailing videos. The videos cover different detailing topics from decontamination, coating applications, microfiber towels, to applicator pads. How to Properly Decontaminate With Gtechniq
“In this video, we will discuss the proper mechanical decontamination of the paint work. This is a key element to ensure proper bondings of our coatings. For new vehicles a synthetic clay towel of substitute is recommended. For older vehicles or those with heavy contamination a clay bar is recommended. Remember to lubricate the surface to reduce marring. Start by applying your selected lubricant to the surface, if using a synthetic clay towel lubricate all sides of the towel gently glide the towel over the surface. You have successfully decontaminated the surface when the surface feels smooth. Pro tip, removing the tag from your towel reduces the risk of marring. Once decontaminated lightly wipe the surface using an MF1 microfiber towel until the surface is dry and free of decontamination.”
How To Properly Tape And Polish Before Applying A Coating
“In this video we will discuss the proper taping and polishing of the vehicle. This is to ensure the paintwork is looking its best before locking in the results with our coatings. Taking the time to tape off fragile components not only reduces risk, but allows for efficient time usage. Between steps tape off sharp edges and softer materials like trim and lenses inspect the paintwork prior to selecting your pad and polish combination. Using proper inspection lights, remember to start with the least aggressive combination. To ensure safe results take extra care around edges and sharp body lines and the paint can be thinner in these areas. A smaller pad and machine combination will help in these areas. Wipe down your polished section with an MF1 microfiber towel.”
How To Use Gtechniq Panel Wipe PW
“Gtechniq panel wipe is designed to remove all polish residues to allow durable chemically bonding coatings such as see one crystal lacquer CSL, C5 wheel Armour, EXO ultra durable hybrid coating to form the maximum volume of bonds with your vehicle’s paint work or rims. Gtechniq panel wipe is our recommended prep product to ensure all oils and polish residues have been removed. Nicknamed truth serum, panel wipe will show you the true condition of the paintwork. Simply spray panel wipe onto a surface and buff with a Gtechniq MF1 microfiber buff cloth.”
How to Apply a Gtechniq Ceramic Coating
“In this video we will discuss the proper application of our ceramic coatings for paint. For each coating please follow the directions for that specific product. After polishing the surface a thorough inspection of the paintwork is required. Once coated your results will be locked in for years to come. Gtechniq panel wipe is our recommended prep product to ensure all oils and polish residues have been removed. Nicknamed truth serum panel wipe will show you the true condition of the paintwork. For your first coating EXO v4 is recommended for ease of application. It is available in two sizes 30 milliliters for most cars and 50 milliliters for most larger vehicles and trucks. EXO v4 comes with everything needed in the box including gloves and the AP2 applicator. An instruction sheet is included as well as a decal to let everyone know that you have selected Gtechniq to protect your investment. Using the applicator to open the product will make sure you get the most out of your product. Drop several, between 5 and 10 drops of product onto the applicator provided, work the liquid into the pad to get an even saturation, apply with the applicator provided in overlapping strokes. Wait for 2 minutes and then fold your first mf1 twice to form a square. Spread and remove most of the residue using a light touch. C2 V3 is our six-month ceramic spray sealant and is the maintenance spray for our coatings.
