Flex XFE and XCE Polishers – SEMA 2015
by Reece @ DIFlex had two big reveals at SEMA this year. We stopped by their booth and got a first hand look at two brand new polishers, the Flex XFE and XCE. Flex is known for their forced rotation 3401 VRG, but the new XFE is a free spinning polisher that features a 15mm throw. This certainly gives you another option if you are looking for this type of polisher. The new XCE is something we are more used to seeing from Flex. Think of the XCE as an updated version of the popular 3401, but it will not replace this popular unit. The forced rotation, 8mm throw, and improved vibration control, smooth usage, more quiet, and cooling features make for some nice upgrades.
We will have more on these buffers when it comes available, but in the mean time what do you think!?
Please any info on new XCE looks like a great product for us hobbyist or seniors 🙂
Ken – We do not have much information on each of these polishers, but the XCE has a forced rotation, 8mm throw, and various upgrades (i.e. cooling, vibration, control, etc.) from the 3401 VRG. Once we find out more we will be sure to make an announcement!
THANKS !!!!!
You know Xmas is coming 🙂
Polishers are be coming like cars a lot to chose from
Jeff – So many different options, price points, pros, cons, etc. The variety is unbelievable and it is exciting to see what each manufacturer is coming out with.
They had to release a large throw DA so that Rupes and Griots had competition. Having not used any of the above I can only speculate that they will have refined the designs of each to make them more of what people wanted the other brands to be. Hopefully someone will bring prices down a little or make it necessary to spend the extra money to upgrade due to results achieved with the tools.
Just when I thought my Flex collection was complete…lol
I think that both of them looks like FESTOOL RO 150 FEQ (except the back handle), which has the advantage of polishing as DA and also as force rotation polisher.
i hope they both but atleast xfe spins the opposite direction of the 3401, i could never get use to that but it would be my favorite i think if it did.
Looking forward to checking these out!
And here we are two years later. Still wondering if the XCE exists outside the FLEX marketing office.
