Down and Dirty Car Detailing: 1969 Camaro RS

by

Car Detailing Atlanta

In my line of work, my staff and I get to work on a lot of pretty physically clean cars that need maybe paint correction, protective coatings and maybe some kind of clear bra protection. It used to be that I only ever worked on incredibly dirty cars that all needed serious car detailing services in the Atlanta area. This 1969 Camaro RS visited us more than a year ago to get one of those serious car detailing services I was just talking about. They were not expecting perfection from the paint correction and they understood that there was some damage that was beyond repair. But, in the end, they wanted a thoroughly detailed car inside and out with pretty paint. After a phone call and then the in-person consultation, we had the solution figured out.

The 1969 Camaro RS was a recently made restomod car. The shame was the shop that built it cut some corners in the detailing department. It was our job to have it feel clean again.

The owner opted for an entry-level paint correction service, thorough car detailing and then the paint capped off with Swissvax Crystal Rock. At Detailed Designs Auto Spa, we know that not everyone is looking for an 80 hour restoration project. This is why we place so much value on our in-person consultations. Professionals taking the time to understand the owner’s needs makes a recipe for success in taking care of their clients!

As you’ll see, there was much to be physically cleaned, including some nooks and crannies. Interior vinyl surfaces were in dire need to be thoroughly cleaned and then conditioned. Paint was faded, super swirled and rough to the touch.

Before you go further, I’d like to say thanks for taking the time to view our article and I hope you enjoy!

When she arrived. Anything look out of place?

Remember the filthy door hardware earlier? It took some time, but the years of junk build up were properly detailed.

    Hey,

I am in Augusta, Ga. How cold must it be to NOT Machine buffer a car? That Camaro job is a thing of beauty.

Should less abraisive pads used in colder weather like white, black or blue? I have a Porter buffer if it matters.

    Thanx,

    Al
