I recently took my 2006 Infiniti G35 sedan in for service to the dealer. After they were finished, and I left the dealership, I noticed greasy fingerprints on the passenger side “A” pillar. I am not sure how to clean this as the cloth around the “A” pillar is very thin.
Thank you for your advice in advance.

Thanks for submitting your question Jake.
This is actually a great question as the material on the “A” pillars is often the same as what’s use on the headliner. Since these materials are often more delicate than the rest of the interior we need to care for them a little differently than the more durable fabrics. Any time you are working on a cloth headliner, or in the case the “A” pillar, you want to avoid getting the fabric too wet as it can effect the adhesive used to hold them in place. I’m sure we’ve all seen the droopy headliners which were fairly common back on the 80’s vehicles. For cleaning these areas I suggest using one of our All Purpose Cleaners (APC’s) such as 303 Fabric & Vinyl Cleaner, Meguiar’s All Purpose Cleaner D101, or Optimum Power Clean. Simply mist/spray the cleaner onto a clean soft towel like our DI Micro Fiber All Purpose Towel and gently rub the soiled area. Never spray the cleaner directly onto these delicate surfaces. You may need to repeat the process a few times depending on the stain and you will want to fold the towel and use a clean side each time you go over it. It should come out relatively easily though from my experience and I think we have all had our cars come back with greasy finger prints after having them serviced. 🙁
You can also check out this brief article/review of our Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner D101, which covers dilution ratios as well as some of the other uses for it.
I hope this helps, and if you or anyone else has any addition questions please feel free to submit them in the comment box below.
