The Aquatek SYNTH is a maintenance spray for Aquatek ceramic coatings. It is rated for 1 month of protection. I like to encourage nonprofessional auto detailers and my clients to use products that complement their work or premium service they purchased. There are 3 things I am looking for in a maintenance product. I am looking at ease of use. I am evaluating how well it complements the base layer of protection (appropriate for initial product used). I am looking at the cost of a product that I and my clients will purchase. I believe those questions have been answered positively. Some would look negatively at durability. But its primary role is to serve as a complimentary maintenance spray. With easier to use products you are going to sacrifice something, and durability is what the actual coating is for. There are (which are often more expensive) Si02 sprays that are better standalone products that I am comfortable using. But most nonprofessionals are not enthusiastic about using a product that may be too finicky or laborious to use (leaving streaks and visible film).
Product Application Advice
During the application process, the Rag Company Eagle Edgeless 500GSM microfiber towels were used. Start by working in an area about twice your shoulder length, I would start with 3 to 4 spritzes initially (about 3 for each additional area). I would start spraying the product into your microfiber towel. Your first attempt using these kinds of products I would lean on spraying on the towel. I have experimented with spraying onto the panel or spraying a couple of times on both the panel and towel, all of which seemed to work fine. Ideally you will either use a second dry towel (or flip to dry side) to immediately wipe away the excess.
Working in small areas is the big one! This is not a difficult product to use. But the biggest difference in user experience comes from working too big of an area. It spreads more easily in small areas.
I often test maintenance products, sealants, and waxes by using them immediately prior to a long road trip where road film, tar, and bugs will be an issue. I would not suggest Aquatek SYNTH is the best standalone option for protection. But I was quite satisfied with the cleanup and water beading fun.
